Gap professional is representing a booming manufacturing business based local to Southend, Essex who are seeking a knowledgeable and personable Safety, Health & Environmental Manager. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of Health & Safety and Environmental policy in relation to implementation, day to day operations and compliance with legislation and best practice. The role will require you to work Monday to Thursday 08:30-17:30 and 08:30-17:00 on Friday.
Duties of the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager:
ØEnsure the company is meeting or exceeding the requirements under all H&S and Environmental Legislation
ØReview of policies to meet the needs of / changes in the business and any changes to H&S and Environmental regulations and legislation.
ØImplementation and auditing of the standards and individual responsibilities contained within the H&S and Environmental der the ISO14001 requirements.
ØEnsure the Group passes all ISO14001 audits
ØManage any HSE or EA site visit
ØProvide coaching and facilitation for site employees in H&S and Environmental training and requirements
ØProvide data and statistics for SHE reporting to Directors monthly and external bodies when required.
ØEnsure all health screening is conducted on relevant employees.
ØEnsure the business has an improvement plan for H&S and environmental and that the plan is completed against targets and milestones.
Experience required for the Safety, Health & Environmental Manager:
ØYou will have a formal relevant qualification e.g. NEBOSH
ØMultiple years' experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
ØQualified in ISO14001 with experience of establishing ISO14001 in a business and meeting audit requirements
ØExcellent problem-solving skills
