A vacancy has arisen for a HR Officer based in Thirsk. Reporting to the HR Business Partner the HR Officer will primarily be responsible for delivering a professional on-site HR service.

Duties
·Provide professional and robust first line advice and management information to management and employees within the business
·Assist and support managers with investigations and disciplinaries
·Ensure that the organisation is operating under legally compliant hr policies and procedures and where necessary review and roll out policies in line with employment law and best practice
·Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
·Recruitment of hourly paid and non-managerial staff, which involves developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking applications and shortlisting, interviewing and liaising with recruiting managers and recruitment agencies
·Support the HRBP in the recruitment of management positions
·Plan inductions and training plans for new starters
·Carry out exit interviews
·Prepare staff handbooks, contracts of employment, letters of offer and new starter paperwork and right to work and reference checks
·Advise on pay and other remuneration issues and assist with weekly payroll processes
·Work with the Director and HRBP on HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staffing requirements
·Ensure absence is monitored and procedures followed, this would include return to work interviews and absence review meetings
·Work with HR & departmental managers to review training & development for staff
·Making sure training and staff appraisals are carried out, collated and logged

Skills/Knowledge

·Have previous experience preferably within a manufacturing environment
·Have worked in a multi-cultural work environment
·Language requirements beyond English: Proficiency in Romanian and Polish (desirable)
·CIPD qualified
·Good knowledge of employment law and best practice
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
·Have the ability to build relationships at all levels within the business and be able to negotiate / influence and build credibility
·Strong analytical problem-solving abilities with an ability to demonstrate sound judgment
·Results driven with sound business judgment
·Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and work under pressure
·Strong IT Skills including experience in the use of HR Information Systems with extracting reports, maintaining information and development of current systems to
meet business requirements
