Accounts Assistant

Outskirts of Cardiff

Permanent - Full Time 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday (2pm finish on a Friday)

Hawk 3 Recruitment are working with a specialist manufacturer based on the outskirts of Cardiff to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their company on a permanent basis. Excellent opportunity for progression for the right candidate.

Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for accurate and timely management of all administrative aspects of the Sales and Purchase Ledgers, split between the Finance team.
  • Assist with the maintenance of cash books and associated administration, processing weekly payroll and all other accounting duties as and when required.
  • Working in a small team of experienced individuals involving liaising with Management, Finance colleagues and Operators.

Responsibilities:

SALES LEDGER - when required

 

  • Generating Sales Invoices and EDI Invoicing
  • Credit Control and liaising with customers
  • Allocation of receipts
  • End of month routine, ensuring ledgers are closed and reporting is completed in a timely manner

PURCHASE LEDGER - when required

  • Matching purchase orders and delivery notes to purchase invoices
  • Inputting invoice details on our Financial System
  • Reconciling Statements
  • Dealing with Supplier queries
  • End of month routine, ensuring ledgers are closed and reporting is completed in a timely manner

PAYROLL

  • Collate time sheets and input figures into our Payroll System
  • Print relevant reports and distribute payslips
  • All other associated payroll administration

GENERAL

  • Support the production and issue of Weekly information sheet and target figures.
  • Update and ensure the accuracy of the weekly cashflow forecast
  • Monitoring and maintenance of stock as and when required

Competencies:

  • Friendly, helpful manner with a "can do" attitude

  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong team player
  • Willingness to work in a small team
  • Experience of Sage Payroll and Epicor advantageous

Qualifications:

Part or qualified AAT required or experience of working in a similar role.
