Job: Accounts Payable Team Leader
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000
Hours: 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday
A key part of the Finance team reporting directly to the Financial Director. The role has overall responsibility for the Management of Accounts Payable, maintenance of the accounting ledgers and provision of other management data.
Establishing standard processes across the team, entities managed and systems (Mainly Sage 1000).
Providing a link between the Accounts Payable team and the financial accounts team for accounting matters.
Use reporting functionality to effectively analyse key data, and establish KPI's to ensure effective and accurate operation of the purchase ledger functions.
Management of Accounts Payable Team.
Support the resolution of outstanding purchase ledger queries by liaising with internal departments (purchasing, procurement, and warehouse) and external vendors to ensure successful completion.
Management of purchase ledger tasks to include the GRNI and stock in transit process
Assist with both internal and external auditors.
Use reporting functionality of SAGE and Excel
Preparation and authorisation of weekly and monthly BACS payment runs
Authorisation of weekly and monthly BACS runs
Liaise with external auditors to comply with requests for the completion of Statutory accounts.
Periodic review of sales ledger to ensure overdue debtors being collected
Periodic review of purchase ledger to ensure no accounts being left on hold
Review of Exports/Imports to ensure duty/VAT correctly accounted for.
Experience, Attributes & Skills sought :
Be a qualified AAT or equivalent, comfortable with the technical aspects outlined in the job above and have good IT skills.
Be a proven manager, capable of motivating staff and communicating at all levels within the Company.
Flexible in approach, capable of being hands on to detail as well as strategic thinking.
Possess a commercial attitude with an ability to project-manage to tight deadlines is also required.
Be familiar with Manufacturing environments and ERP systems. Knowledge of Sage Line 1000 would be advantageous but not essential.
Possess a good understanding of Microsoft Office. In particular advanced use of Excel
Possess excellent communication skills as this role involves liaising with all other departments throughout the company.
