Location: Leeds

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 (DOE)

Main Responsibilities

  • Follow the Health and Safety Management process, which is in place, ensuring that it remains compliant with current Health and Safety legislation and the robust audit process is conducted in order to drive continuous improvement 
  • Ensuring that all Health and Safety policies are reviewed, up to date, and understood
  • Ensuring that maintenance plans, electrical testing and servicing are adhered to and booked to scheduled dates
  • Remaining up to date with all current Health and Safety requirements by using online resources and external organisations
  • Ensuring that all equipment is safety checked in line with the legislative requirements 
  • Completing any accident reporting and investigation 
  • Overseeing fire controls ( fire risk assessment, evacuation procedures, fire alarm and fire extinguisher testing, fire Marshall training) 
  • Conducting facilities checks to ensure that the office is in full working order, including: air con, drinks machines and car parks
  • When required, supporting the wider Facilities Team with tasks, for example: assisting with the delivery of provisions, manual handling, as well as general office maintenance duties

Experience and Skills required

  • Previous experience in a Health and Safety or facilities role 
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health and Safety qualification 
  • Good understand of Health and Safety legislation in relation to an office environment 
  • Good working knowledge of how to conduct basic facilities tasks 
  • Microsoft Office – outlook, word and excel 
  • NEBOSH Level 3 (advantageous, but not required)
  • First Aid qualified (advantageous, but not required)
