The Company

A well established company based in the heart of Selby are looking for a stand alone experienced HR Manager to join their lively, friendly team.

The Role will cover the below

  • HR
  • Recruitment - full end to end process including sourcing independently and/or working with agency
  • PA Duties for directors - diary management, travel bookings, presentations, visitor support etc
  • Office Management

As HR Manager you will be the one to ensure the company has a happy and productive workplace where everyone works.

You will provide a comprehensive HR service which ensures that managers and employees are equipped with best practice to foster a high performance culture. Duties will involve managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development and talent management.

PA Duties; this will be part of the role, and you will work closely with directors to provide administrative support, helping to make the best use of their time by dealing with secretarial and administrative tasks. You will understand the organisation's aims and objectives .

You have excellent o rganisational skills along with the ability to multitask, w orking calmly under pressure and capable of thinking on your feet. You demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach to your role and have t he ability to be proactive and take the initiative

As you are party to confidential information, you demonstrate discretion and trustworthiness at all times. You have excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in any given situation.

HR Duties

  • Ensure employees have an available source of confidential advice and understanding. Provide assistance.
      Manage complex employee relations cases including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy.

Apply HR and business knowledge evidencing appropriate decision making skills.

Advise managers and share best practice with them.

Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance.

Source and support learning and development opportunities.

Provide first line advice on current and existing benefits for employees and managers.

Maintain payroll records and keep accounts appraised of any changes.

Develop recruitment and selection strategies.

Manage the full end to end recruitment process, this includes writing job descriptions, preparing interview questions, sourcing & interviewing candidates and liaising with agencies where appropriate

Carry out new starter on boarding process

Manage talent and succession planning.

Drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals.

Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary.

Participate in the implementation of specific projects, procedures and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the organisation.

Support change management processes.

    Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices
  • Updating and maintaining the HR Information system data records of personnel-related data (payroll, personal information, leavers, turnover rates etc.) in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
  • Support with organizing work activities for the company.
  • Line Manage Office Coordinator

PA Duties

      Organising travel, visas and accommodation. Occasional travel with the Directors to take notes or dictation at meetings, or to provide general assistance during presentations

Screening phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate

Meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority

Full diary management; organising and maintaining business and personal diaries, appointment making

Carrying out specific projects and background research and presenting findings

Producing documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations

  • Organising and attending meetings and ensuring the Directors are well prepared. Taking action points and writing minutes
  • Prompting directors 'of important tasks and deadlines
  • Liaising with staff, suppliers and clients

 

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

    • CIPD Level 5
    • Proven working experience as HR manager or HR Officer
    • People oriented and results driven
    • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics
    • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
    • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
    • Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
    • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
    • Knowledge of employment law and HR Best Practice

Exceptional written and oral communication skills;

Excellent word processing and IT skills, including knowledge of a range of software packages;

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines;

Good organisational and time management skills;

Ability to research, digest, analyse and present material clearly and concisely;

Ability to work on your own initiative;

Honesty and reliability;

Attention to detail;

Flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks, meet deadlines;

Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues
