2nd Line IT Support / IT System Administrator
The IT department is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's IT systems and for providing efficient desktop support to all business users. The department is responsible for resolving any IT-related faults quickly and efficiently, including a broad range of queries from how to set up an out of office reply to more complex system diagnostics, plus enhancing and developing the IT provision within the business. Working within a close-knit team where the success of the department depends upon a collaborative effect.
Working with the IT Manager and a 1st line support, the position involves investigating and fixing technical problems with the responsibility for responding and fixing internal IT requests, Other duties include monitoring and managing backups, patching networks (Servers and Workstations) and you will be required to participate in a wide variety of other IT projects.
The Ideal candidate will have strong technical competence, Within the role there is scope for personal development and the enhancement of existing skills. Progression within this role will be dependent upon obtaining Industry standard certification and the completion of suitable training courses. There is scope in the future to manage the IT Dept in the future if the candidate has the right ambition, technical skills, and drive.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience for the role of IT Support
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a 2nd/3rd Line IT Support role
- Microsoft Server 2012/2016/2019
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Azure & Office 365
- Networking and VLANs
- SonicWALL and site to site VPNs
- Security and patch management
Able to work on own initiative
Good level of communication, both written and verbal
Flexible approach to problem resolutions.
Full driving licence
