Job Title: IT Support Technician

Salary: £30,000

Location: Coventry/UK locations

Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

The role

To be a first point of contact for the Global Services Desk to resolve all IT related inquiries & incidents in the UK.

Main duties and responsibilities

Delivery

  • To resolve day to day IT issues as they arise across all operational and support locations
  • Record all IT support activities in the ITSM tool (ServiceNow)
  • Maintain the IT hardware register and replenishment policy
  • Ensure department policies and procedures are relevant and maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with company, group and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure new starters have the correct IT equipment, applications and access as required to perform their functions.
  • Ensure high availability of our Time and Attendance system

Collaboration

  • Participate in company projects
  • Liaise with group colleagues to identify best practices and synergies.
  • Coordinate systems and processes meetings and presentations where required. Collating KPI
  • Support and Cover the Coventry Wheel and Tyre environment in the event of annual leave and sickness.

Empowerment

  • Deputise for the IT Manager where required

- Provide Innovative Ideas and solutions to future proof our offerings to the customer base

Skills and experience sought

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level (including Maths and English)
  • Working knowledge of an IT service desk
  • Strong technical knowledge/understanding of IT Infrastructure
  • O365
  • Proven experience of working with suppliers and internal customers
  • Proven experience of working within a similar role

Desirable

  • Project Management Accreditation
  • ITIL/Service Management
  • Relevant Microsoft technical certifications
  • Navision
  • VMWare, Veeam
  • Desktop virtualisation
  • HP Switch's
  • Juniper Firewalls
  • Project coordination or project management experience
  • Infrastructure projects
