Commutable from Garforth, Leeds, Sherburn in Elmet, Wetherby, York, or Harrogate

Rostered Hours:               Average of 36 hours per week covering hours 8am to 6pm,

(Inclusive of one 8am-6pm Saturday shift in a 4-week rota)

The Role of the IT Support Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the IT Support department at Tadcaster as a IT Systems Support Technician.


Your key tasks will include

  • Ensuring all IT issues are logged and resolved either by the IT Department or by liaising with one of our outsourced IT support partners. 
  • You will be competent at diagnosing and solving IT hardware and software issues. 
  • You will liaise with outsourced partners, through logged calls and update reported faults on the call logging system.
  • You will liaise closely with customers and suppliers regarding the status of issues. 
  • At times, you have opportunity to work with other areas of the systems team on system maintenance and development.

Experience/Skills/Knowledge of the IT Support Technician

  • You will have experience in the configuration and troubleshooting of Desktop/Laptop/Server hardware and application support.
  • Experience in providing great customer service where attention to detail and problem resolution were critical.  
  • User knowledge of some of the following: - Windows 10, Server 2012 and upwards, Azure, MS Office 365, IP Telephony, LAN and WAN Networking as well as having knowledge of Mobile Device Management platforms is important. Knowledge of SQL, Apple Mac and Linux is advantageous.

Your key focus in this role will be 1st and 2nd line support. You will possess excellent communication skills, have experience of working to tight deadlines in a multitasking environment as well as having experience of technical or application support. The ideal candidate may have experience of or be working in a similar sized SMB or corporate IT service desk environment.
