Title: Junior Product Assurance Technologist

Contract: Full time/ Permanent

Location: Wakefield
Salary: £20,000-£24,000

Overview:

Our client is a market leader in their given field of celebration gifts, on their behalf we are looking for a Junior Product Assurance Technologist to join their team in Wakefield. You will be working towards product development and quality, through varied activities including testing, sample reviews and reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Junior Product Assurance Technologist:

  • Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Working within clearly defined guidelines to maintain accurate records of all product development.
  • Working in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager to offer technical guidance on new product development with the aim of reducing costs and improving quality.
  • Reviewing and approving product labelling with buyers, studio, and suppliers.
  • Requesting product testing and pre-shipment inspections.
  • Reviewing AQL / final inspections.
  • Keeping technical files up to date.
  • Supporting Compliance Technologist with Supply base duties, if and when required.
  • Discussing and reviewing samples with the buying team before production.
  • Reviewing test reports on all types of products.
  • EUTR/UKTR checks.
  • Maintain internal tracker documents.
  • Completing Technical Documents for all CE / UKCA marked products.
  • Fortnightly meetings for inputting to the critical path from NPD stage to final shipment.

Requirements of the Junior Product Technologist:

  • A methodical and inquisitive personality, no work experience is needed but a desire to progress your experience in a technical role is essential 
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Experience of working directly with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team as the role requires.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
