Late Shift Assistant Team Leader

Exeter - Devon

Fulltime - Permanent

Monday - Friday 14:00pm - 10:30pm (early finish Friday)

£25,389

The Vacancy

Reporting directly to the area Team Leader. The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Team leader to co-ordinate and oversee the manufacture of metal shop components and maintain quality control over items produced. The individual must have a keen eye for detail and a comprehensive knowledge of metal shop processes and procedures to assist with production and be able to demonstrate leadership skills and attributes.

This role is the first step into a supervisory career path and requires a proactive, motivated, self-driven individual who is customer focused and results driven. You must be willing to learn and become multi-skilled across a range of skills and disciplines and be willing to lead by example. As an Assistant Team Leader, you should set the gold standard for attitudes, behaviours and performance as well as promote and adhere to the company values with a view to career progression in a supervisory role within the organisation.

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Dynamic and proactive
  • Flexibility to carry out a wide-ranging role
  • Computer Literate with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Manufacturing experience would be an advantage
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and use a range of measuring equipment
  • Lean, 5S & Six Sigma training would be an advantage
  • CNC experience or a mechanical background would be an advantage
  • Physically fit to cope with heavy lifting
  • Lead by example and display a proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • You must be a team player with good communication skills
