Monday – Friday, 06:00am – 14:00pm/14:00pm – 22:00pm, weekly rotating

Machine Operator

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are proud to be working with an industry leading Manufacturing client based in Huntingdon. As the market leaders in their field, they are now seeking to employ experienced Machine Operators to be a key part in their ever-growing success.

Main Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the usage of equipment and materials, ensuring all stock is used in the correct quantities listed on the specifications and standard safety practices are adhered to at all times
  • Monitoring stock levels, conducting daily checks, and reporting any discrepancies or shortages in a timely manner to avoid production delays
  • Training and mentoring new starters, writing, and updating procedures where necessary and highlighting the importance of high standards, ensuring all employees understand their roles fully
  • Setting up machines on a daily basis, delivering detailed shift handovers and production briefs, ensuring all colleagues are working towards the same goal
  • Analysing and reporting on KPI’s, highlighting any potential issues, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities including areas for saving, streamlining processes, minimising wastage, and training requirements
  • Motivating the team to work to tight deadlines, keeping production running efficiently by using clear communication to minimise disruption
  • Setting a positive example for following Health & Safety procedures, Compliance guidelines and Food Safety standards. Implementing the correct use of PPE and overseeing hygiene regulations are followed
  • Performing start up checks on the machines, reporting any maintenance faults to the engineering team. Maintaining the general upkeep of machines and storing equipment safely

Experience and Skills required

  • Previous experience within a Food Manufacturing environment is highly advantageous or experience within a role mixing ingredients and specific quantities is beneficial
  • Food Safety – Level 2 qualification, HACCP trained, MHE accredited and sound knowledge on Health & Safety
  • Confident in working with data and interpreting key information and making amendments where needed to keep production running smoothly
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, able to engage a team and deliver clear instructions
  • Happy to be involved in manual aspects as this role entails lifting, repetitive movement and standing for long periods of time
  • A positive attitude with an aim to progress, support colleagues and build a career with a much-loved business
  • Driven to maintain high standards and promote and support the company’s culture through producing outstanding products
  • Flexible approach to responsibilities, able to pitch in where necessary on the production lines and take on new tasks
