Job: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Stonehouse
Salary: £32,000 - £37,000
Job type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday (Day shifts however some flexibility required to meet the needs of the business)
Key Responsibilities:
Take accountability for preventative and unplanned maintenance activities using a proactive approach, utilising operational excellence and continuous improvement activities to improve equipment reliability and ensure minimal equipment downtime.
During maintenance incidents, actively use problem solving and techniques to identify the true root cause of the issue and implement corrective actions.
Complete all necessary documentation regarding maintenance activities, including highlighting suggestions for improvements either to systems or equipment, and take ownership for progressing required documentation.
Implement and maintain a critical spares management protocol.
Utilise external resource, where appropriate, to obtain services/components, generating, completing and obtaining the appropriate documentation and approval to proceed (e.g. Purchase Orders, spares requests, quotations, etc).
Be accountable and responsible for ensuring all personal activities are effectively closed on time, in line with agreed targets and timelines (e.g. PPM, Deviations, Change Controls, Training, etc).
Organise service schedules and liaise with contractors to keep plant facilities up to date and in order
Experience, attributes & skills sought:
Proactive approach to the role, experienced in utilising pre-emptive and preventative maintenance activities to ensure production reliability
Mechanical engineering experience required
C&G Level 3 Diploma in electrical installation, ideally apprentice trained
Minimum BS 7671 17 th edition. 18 th desirable
Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial industry looking after machinery and/or equipment, including 3-phase installations
Familiarity with web processing, motors, pumps, control systems, sensors, conveyors systems and basic PLC fault finding knowledge highly advantageous
A willingness to work on building facilities as required as well as plant machinery
Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills
