Permanent Quality Officer
Location: Exeter
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
Start Date: April 2021

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall ownership of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Carry out both internal and external Audits and update QMS to reflect findings to ensure compliance with both IS:9001:2015 and 14001.
  • Control and oversea General Health, Safety & Environmental Awareness.
  • Good Knowledge and use of APQP tools.
  • Develop work instructions and control plans for both assembly and production.
  • Improve product quality by making recommendations for improvements and carry out change request to ensure change happens.
  • Work together with relevant teams and departments to improve products, and processes throughout the company for a quality aspect.
  • Ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards such as TUV and BSi.
  • Validate Suppliers to ensure the meet supplier quality standard.
  • Ensure that non-compliant products and material are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems.
  • Formulate a strategic plan to increase productivity in the business.
  • Document results and findings after inspections are carried out.
  • Become part of the Company Team to drive a Total Quality Matters ethos.



Experience, attributes & skills sought:

  • Team Player attitude is essential.
  • Help Design with the F.M.E.A and Design briefs.
  • Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of technical documentation.
  • Previous quality experience within Engineering, Metal Fabrication or Manufacturing environments.
