Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are operating as an employment agency on behalf of its client for a Business Development Manager / Field Sales

 

  • Location: Norwich
  • Salary: £40-45K
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 40hrs (Must be flexible with travel and overnight stays)

 

Summary:

To manage individual supplier accounts and the daily commercial and transport interfaces to maximise efficiency, minimise cost and grow the business through business retention and development by procurement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow the strategy agreed with the AGM, RGMs, CGM and CMs to grow and develop the existing business unit and support a structure for sustainable growth
  • Purchase material, in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
  • Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications
  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers performance to ensure contract compliance
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues
  • Support the purchasing function and other relevant department and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects and activities
  • Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organisation
  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
  • Prepare reports and updates as and when required
  • Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvements
  • Analyse the 'buyer margin reports' and take necessary actions
  • Explore joint ventures or trading co-operations with customers
  • Visit customers and buyers customers regularly
  • Maintain a close liaison and reporting to RGMs
  • Provide support to all relevant operational, and transport managers within the regions
  • Provide support to other Commercial buyers maintaining and gaining new business
  • Support the overall buying & selling strategy of the group
  • Fully appreciate and cooperate to achieve the relevant transport recovery KPI's
  • Maintain daily, weekly, monthly communication with Operational, Commercial, Transport and Administration teams to ensure cohesive and single focus to achieving business objectives
  • Ensure allocated business and personal objectives are met
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of (T2) as a tool for business improvement
  • Ensuring Stock & Quality issues are reported and remedied
  • Understand and liaise stock movement by road, rail and sea whilst respecting the RGMS and AGM overall management of movements
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports for management
  • Develop/manage accounts of CRM. Reporting and monitoring through the CRM app to drive daily/weekly targets

 

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

  • Must possess a detailed understanding of all aspects of metal recycling
  • Fully understand all potential routes to market and end markets for the processed streams
  • Must be constantly aware of the prevailing market conditions
  • Understand strengths & weaknesses of the competition in the UK and Europe
  • At least 3-5 years in the Industry
  • Ability to analytically analyse issues/problems
  • Proven delivery of performance improvement and change management
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Able to travel and spend nights away from home
