Key details:

  • Location: PE29 7HF
  • Hours of work: 6AM-2PM/2PM-10PM (AM/PM) Monday - Friday, Weekly rotation.
  • Salary: £26,013 per annum (£13.34 per hour)

Core responsibilities:

  • Overseeing a small team and their usage of equipment and materials
  • Ensuring all stock is used in the correct quantities listed on the specifications and standard safety practices are adhered to
  • Monitoring stock levels and reporting any discrepancies or shortages in a timely manner
  • Training and mentoring new starters, ensuring all employees understand the importance of high standards and their roles fully
  • Setting up machines daily, delivering detailed shift handovers and production briefs
  • Maintaining the general upkeep of machines and storing equipment safely
  • Analysing and reporting of KPI’s, highlighting any potential issues, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Motivating the team to work to tight deadlines and communicating clearly to keep production running efficiently
  • Setting a positive example for following Health & Safety procedures, Compliance guidelines and Food Safety and hygiene standards.

Skills & Experience Sought:

  • Previous machining (setting/operating) experience is essential, although could have been gained within an alternative industry
  • A keen eye for detail and high standards (quality)
  • Previous experience within a Food Manufacturing environment or where you have been responsible for mixing “ingredients” to a specification is advantageous
  • Strong communication skills are essential – this is a multi-cultural site where English is the common language and therefore you must be fluent in English (verbal & written)
  • A sound knowledge of Health & Safety procedures is essential
  • Food Safety – Level 2 qualification, HACCP training and MHE accreditation are beneficial
  • Happy to be involved in manual aspects as this role entails lifting, repetitive movement and standing for long periods of time
  • A positive attitude with an aim to progress, support colleagues and build a career
