Stores Supervisor

Location: Ilminster

Hours of work: 39 hours Monday to Friday

Rotational Shift: Mon - Thurs (6am-2.30pm) / Fri (6am-1.30pm)

Late Shift with 20% uplift: Mon - Thurs (2pm-10.30pm) / Fri (1pm - 8.30pm)

Salary : up to £35,000

Job: Permanent

 

Summary:

 

Responsible for organising the receiving, storage, issue, dispatch and recording of material movements into the factory, in and out of stores and out to the relevant customer.

To manage and co-ordinate the stores team to ensure a cohesive, flexible and adaptable approach to the needs of the business - both internal and external customers

To be responsible for maintenance of stock and traceability of records held in stores; planning, co-ordination and control of resources to ensure KPI's are met & exceeded.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

    Goods In:
    Receive goods from transport, inspect and receive on to Syspro

           Forward goods requiring physical inspection to inspection

           Identify and notify the appropriate personnel of items with Good's Receiving Issues. Quarantine the parts and ensure actions are completed within a timely manner

 

    Kitting:
    Pick parts according to the work to list provided by production

           Work in accordance with FIFO guidelines

           Document all stock variances when found and report to the Supply Chain Manager and Finance Controller

           Root cause the reason for any variance and ensure corrective actions are put in place

 

    Cycle count:
    Complete the weekly cycle count process. Document all stock variances when found and report to the Supply Chain Manager and Finance Controller
    Dispatch goods:
    Oversee the smooth running of the dispatch process

            Identify any Health & Safety or improvement requirements and ensure timely implementation

 

    Material storage and handling:
    Ensure staff are correctly trained in MHE

           Ensure MHE is maintained in line with equipment recommendations

           Maintain any operator records where applicable

           Maintain a counter service for internal customers

           Operate a daily 'Milk round' for consumables

 

           Other duties

           Responsibility for Health and Safety within Stores and ensuring all equipment and ways of working conform with up to date regulation

           Ensure all military components are segregated and stores in accordance with ITAR requirements

           Continuous Improvement - identify and gain approval for implementation of CI initiatives that reduce manual activity within stores and improve efficiency and accuracy within stores

           Lead a flexible approach to work, help and support each other within the stores environment

           Manage training requirements to ensure people can work across all areas within stores to ensure cover during periods of holiday and sickness

           Define clear objectives for staff and review and support in the delivery of those objectives

 

 

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

 

3+ years' experience in managing stores in a manufacturing environment

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Experience of using an MRP system (Syspro or equivalent)

Good practical skills with a high level of manual dexterity

Good concentration levels and attention to detail

Strong communication and organisation skills

The ability to follow written and verbal instructions and accurately keep records

Must be reliable, have the ability to work on own initiative and manage a team
