Sustainability Advisor
Permanent
Wakefield
£35,000
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am -5pm
Our leading independent Automotive client is currently looking for a Sustainability Advisor to be responsible for developing and implementing sustainability strategies across the Group.
Main Responsibilities of the Sustainability Advisor
- Work with the Head of HSEQ & Compliance and wider team to create and execute comprehensive sustainability strategies across the group
- Establish clear goals and targets related to carbon footprint reduction, waste management, energy efficiency, and sustainable sourcing.
- Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to raise awareness and promote sustainable practices.
- Develop strong relationships with external partners to drive sustainable initiatives
- Evaluate current and potential suppliers based on sustainability criteria.
- Collaborate with suppliers to improve their environmental performance and sustainable practices.
- Work towards and maintain relevant sustainability certifications (e.g., ISO 14001, Carbon Neutral Certification).
- Assist on Internal and External HSEQ and Compliance audits across the Group.
- Support on the Groups Net Zero Target
- Analyse sustainability data, track progress, and prepare detailed reports for management and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records related to sustainability efforts, certifications, and compliance.
- Develop training programmes on sustainability practices for employees.
- Organise awareness campaigns and initiatives to engage employees in sustainable practices.
- Assist with induction training and site tours with new starters and visitors, where necessary.
- Support wider HSEQ projects and tenders as required
Experience and Skills required
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability best practices.
- Proficiency in sustainability reporting.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Demonstrable experience working with a HSEQ / Sustainability role.
- Excellent Microsoft office skills.
- Attention to detail.
- IEMA, NEBSOH or IOSH Certification desirable.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and management systems.
- Internal / Lead Auditor qualifications desirable.
