COMPLIANCE TECHNOLOGIST / NEWTON ABBOT

Location: Heathfield, Newton Abbot

Job type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday 07:30am - 16:30pm

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Compliance Technologist to join our clients team at Newton Abbot site on a permanent contract.

Duties & responsibilities:

      Approve new raw materials for use in NPD, ensuring all company and customer requirements are met

Approving new suppliers and ensuring supplier approval documentation is up to date and conforms to requirements

Ensuring internal and external raw material specifications are accurate, up to date and meet requirements

Performing checks on incoming raw materials to ensure they confirm to specifications

Liaising with Production regarding any raw material quality issues

Collecting raw material samples for microbiological analysis and interpreting the results

Ensuring out of specification raw material is quarantined where appropriate

Liaising with suppliers regarding non-confirming raw materials, product specification and technical issues

Completing quality reviews where shelf life extensions may be required for raw materials

Performing back-to-farm traceability exercises with suppliers on periodic basis

Taking part in investigating customer complaints where raw materials may be implicated

Assisting the Technical Manager with BRCGS and customer audits and assisting with internal audits

Monitoring and raising hygiene issues, ensuring work instruction and GMP are followed at all times and reporting to Technical Manager as required

Undertaking project work to support development

About you:

      Experience within a similar role

Understand the supplier approval process, specifications and will have managed supplier databases

Qualified to Level 3 HACCP

Good knowledge of BRCGS and legislative requirements

Experience of supplier auditing would be advantageous

Organised and able to work on own initiative

Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs

Able to learn new programs quickly
