Job title: Fire Damper Service Engineer -Team Leader

Location: Birmingham

Hours of work: Varying shifts, flexibility if required

Salary: C £26,000

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Fire Damper who is ready to step into a Leader role and carry out fire damper testing and inspection.

Main responsibilities:

  • To drop test and inspect fire/smoke dampers as per work instructions and schematics and as per the operations instructions
  • Report faulty damper issues clearly. Along with clear photographs
  • Liaise clearly and promptly with the office re site issues
  • Send in FD numbers daily to the office
  • Send in FD report next day by 10am
  • To ensure full use of PPE as necessary and report to Team Leader if PPE is faulty or needs replacing
  • Identify and report fire/smoke damper issues and carry out the correct testing procedures
  • To ensure when attending site you are dressed cleanly and smartly in appropriate attire and at all times portray a professional company image to all members of the client site
  • To keep the company vehicle clean and tidy

Requirements:

  • You need to be Flexible
  • Sickness-free (you will be asked to complete a Pre-Start Medical Questionnaire and an Interview Form)
  • Able to travel away at short notice (occasionally)
  • Able to work at weekends/nights
  • Need to be DBS cleared - employment contract is subject to this clearance
  • Physically fit
  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Able to work at heights
  • Clean driving license or no more than 3 points
  • Computer literate - Filemaker Pro training will be given on Ipads for completion of relevant paperwork
  • Confident and able to train other Engineers
  • Accommodation is provided when working away
  • Start-up shift rate will be £100 per shift
  • A shift consists of up to 8 hours work
  • Van and all necessary equipment provided
  • You will have experience in fire damper testing and associated remedial works.
  • Clothing and PPE provided
  • Scope for progression within the company if all criteria met
