The Role

As a Window & Door Surveyor you'll play a key role in ensuring every installation project is delivered to the highest standard. You'll conduct detailed surveys of windows, doors, and conservatories, providing accurate measurements and technical advice to support the smooth delivery of each project.

 

Surveyor Job Description

This role involves carrying out precise site measurements of replacement windows and doors, along with any associated works on commercial sites. They will be responsible for recording fenestration details and site requirements using company templates to enable an effective and complete installation. Accurate and timely survey information is essential to meet manufacturing deadlines, ensure compliance with planning and building regulations, and uphold Health & Safety standards.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients will also be a key part of your role, ensuring clear communication and repeat business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and detailed window and door survey data to meet factory and installation deadlines.
• Attend client meetings when required, professionally representing the company and ensuring clear communication with all departments.
• Report survey progress regularly to the Survey Manager.
• Respond promptly to instructions from clients or internal teams, keeping all relevant staff fully informed.
• Work in line with project programmes to ensure surveys align with the sequence of installation and production requirements.
• Record all site instructions, verbal or written, and communicate changes to the company’s Quantity Surveyor and Contracts team.
• Highlight and report any non-conformance issues that may affect compliance or regulations, working with supervisors and clients to resolve them.
• Provide clear reports, sketches, and technical data to support design and detailing improvements.
• Operate within company systems and procedures, safeguarding the company’s interests in all business activities.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties required to meet business needs.

Job requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Fenestration Surveying
• CSCS Card

For subcontract surveyors will need their own public liability insurance in place

 

About You

• Proven experience within the fenestration industry (windows, doors, conservatories, glazing).
• Strong understanding of building regulations and installation processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Great communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
