Job Purpose:

Working as part of the Technical department the role will require working closely with production to ensure the highest quality across the product range, and compliance with food safety and legal requirements throughout the site.

Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance

Responsibilities

    • Working as part of the Technical department the role will require working closely with production to ensure the highest quality across the product range, and compliance with food safety and legal requirements throughout the site.

Ensure products are made to specification and correct policies & procedures are followed during the production process.

Reporting directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and supporting the Compliance Officer

when required.

Completing the daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled tasks which including scale and probe calibrations, verifying paperwork, microbiological sample submission and filing, clean down verification, temperature checks, supplier, and internal non-conformance,

customer complaint investigations, glass & plastic audits, and fabrication audits.

Supporting the training of staff and verification against CCPs, policies and procedures.

To conduct internal GMP audits across departments and conduct hygiene verifications. To support the Quality Control team through training and cover when required.

Assisting the Quality Assurance Manager and the Group Head of Technical with external audits.

The role will be a mix of factory and office-based work to meet the needs of the

business as required.

Competencies:

Ability to work unsupervised on own initiative, as well as working as part of a team

Communicate confidently and professionally with suppliers, customers, and colleagues.

Job Purpose
Reporting into the Site Lead this role will require an experienced Multiskilled Engineer to operate within a fast paced food production environment. The role is hands on, ensuring that all onsite manufacturing machinery and equipment runs safely, smoothly and reliably plus provide a proactive and reactive maintenance service, working both on mechanical and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain all site mechanical/electrical equipment in relation to machinery, buildings, support services and utilities to required standards.
  • Perform maintenance and support tasks on high speed automated equipment.
  • Maintenance on automated and conveying systems
  • Proactive machine maintenance in accordance with the PPM schedule to plant, machinery and equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.

  • Supporting the transitional period of moving from the existing factory to a new purpose built production facility.
  • Occasional installation requirement supporting external contractors.
  • Liaising with all internal departments to ensure any potential issues/factors affecting the business are communicated in a timely manner and escalated appropriately.
  • Asset care and supporting in the training and development of Apprentices/Machine Setters 
  • Keeping accurate and up to date records
  • Sourcing of parts ensuring optimum value for the business
  • Willing to engage with a changing work environment which will involve shift work



Required experience:

  • Experience in a similar role that covers both electrical and mechanical engineering responsibilities
  • Preferably completed a time-served maintenance engineering apprenticeship
  • HNC Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Electrical qualifications (NVQ level 3/18th edition essential
  • Team working and flexibility with an open attitude
  • Capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and personal time management
  • Able to work unsupervised and prioritise their own time and activities
  • Have strong analytical skills supporting fast and effective problem solving
  • Able to demonstrate a proven ability in trouble shooting and recovering equipment in a dynamic environment

The focus of the role is to work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.

They will need to work collaboratively with the engineering team, supporting and identifying means of improving plant productivity. They will ensure that any spare parts, materials, and equipment are available. They will be able to investigate and establish the causes of all breakdowns and machinery speed losses and record any repairs to ensure recurrent faults can be recognised.

The Candidate:

To successfully carry out this role you will need to be multi-skilled and time served.

Electrically you will be able to fault find on single and three-phase systems, servo motors and AC motors, sensors, and various control systems. There will be an element of electrical installation as required, typically lighting and small power. Knowledge of plc electronics desired.

Mechanically you will be able to work on drive train systems, rollers, gearboxes, shafts, pneumatics, and some hydraulics. There is a requirement to be able to strip machine assemblies to component level and rebuild. You will also need to have demonstrated experience in maintenance engineering and show the ability to work off your own initiative.

Education to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is preferred, but not essential as we would consider “time served” as experience.

You will be multi-skilled and have strong communication skills and excellent organisational skills.

Key Requirements:

Relevant degree would be desirable.

Job Purpose:

To ensure production standards are met and maintained for products, before they leave site.

Maintain Quality Management Systems including document control, review and create documents, work instructions, dashboards and other quality administrative tasks.

Perform inspections on random samples in production, identify defects in the manufacturing process, record and report them.

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager.

 

 

Responsibilities

Measuring equipment - control and calibration.

Reporting directly to Operations Executive, the job holders' responsibilities:

 

Health & Safety

  • Facilitate the Health & Safety meetings, produce minutes and update the Health & Safety Plan.
  • Carry out Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental inductions for new employees. Ensure the roll call register is kept up to date.
  • Deliver manual handling training to new employees, and refresher training to longer serving team members.
  • Maintain training records for First Aid, Fork Lift, and CSCS certification and organize refresher training as required.
  • Maintain the risk assessment register, allocate risk assessments to suitably qualified individuals, register corrective actions and ensure they are carried out.
  • Maintain the COSHH register, carry out COSHH risk assessments and ensure adequate precautions are taken to minimize risk, so far as reasonably practicable, explain results of COSHH risk assessments to VSC's and operators.
  • Carry out periodic workplace inspections.
  • Carry out and document accident or near miss investigations and report to the company's insurers as appropriate.

 

Quality Systems

  • Identify, implement, and document best practice and standard work routines. Prepare forms, process flow diagrams and training materials for new products and processes, including safe working procedures.
  • Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints as requested, propose and implement ideas for preventing recurrence.
  • Raise supplier complaints and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive action is taken. Publish supplier performance statistics every 6 months.
  • Maintain the Document Register in accordance with the requirements of ISO9001 and ISO4001.
  • Maintain the Calibration Register, carry out in-house calibration, and organize external calibration of tools and equipment as appropriate.
  • Plan the audit programme for the company's ISO9001, ISO14001 and CE Marking Factory Production Control systems. Liaise with the certifying bodies over arrangements for external audit.
  • Maintain the Audit Register, ensure audits are carried out promptly, document the results, and register corrective actions.
  • Audit compliance with the company's health and safety, quality and environmental management systems, including the emergency evacuation plan.
  • Prepare data for the 6 monthly Management Review of the quality and environmental systems, facilitate the meeting and publish minutes and action points.

 

Environmental Management

  • Deliver environmental awareness and spill kit training to new employees.
  • Maintain waste records as required by current legislation.
  • Facilitate the review of Environmental Aspects, and maintain the Environmental Aspects and Legal Requirements registers.
  • Performance Improvement.
  • Maintain KPI records in relation to Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental performance. Prompt the management team for action in the event of poor performance.
  • Comply with the company's policies and procedures, particularly in respect of quality, health & safety, housekeeping, and the environment

An opportunity has arisen for Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client, a specialist manufacturer in the Cumbernauld area. Excellent salary and progression opportunities for the right candidate

The focus of the role is to work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.

They will need to work collaboratively with the engineering team, supporting and identifying means of improving plant productivity. They will ensure that any spare parts, materials, and equipment are available. They will be able to investigate and establish the causes of all breakdowns and machinery speed losses and record any repairs to ensure recurrent faults can be recognised.

 

The Candidate:

To successfully carry out this role you will need to be multi-skilled preferably with an Electrical bias. Electrically you will be able to fault find on single and three-phase systems, servo motors and AC motors, sensors, and various control systems. There will be an element of electrical installation as required, typically lighting and small power. Knowledge of plc electronics desired.

Mechanically you will be able to work on drive train systems, rollers, gearboxes, shafts, pneumatics, and some hydraulics. There is a requirement to be able to strip machine assemblies to component level and rebuild. You will also need to have demonstrated experience in maintenance engineering and show the ability to work off your own initiative.

Education to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is preferred, but not essential as we would consider "time served" as experience.

You will be multi-skilled and have strong communication skills and excellent organisational skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and effective planning / scheduling of make-to-order products based on demand, and agreed stock levels plus the procurement of raw materials specific to these lines

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain planning data and parameters for the for Make-To-Order Products
  • Maintain a balanced production plan from top level product to lowest level planned WIP.
  • Regular review and update of the plan in accordance with customer orders, 3rd party warehouse stock and possible projected demand.
  • Manage production planning to maximise output to available capacity.
  • Ensure raw materials specific to the Make-To-Order products are ordered to meet needs of the production plan.
  • Advise supply chain, operations and sales when demand is unable to be met due to capacity or material constraints and identify the product(s) affected.
  • Regular reporting of production schedules to key customers highlighting changes to the previous schedule.
  • Provide data and/or highlight concerns on a range of planning/production parameters such as conformance to plan, yield or efficiency analysis via close working with the production team leaders.
  • Have the production plan set by the agreed day & time each working week ready for the Core Planner to publish the full factory production plan.
  • Attend regular production review meetings to review the weekly plan.
  • Participation as and when required in continuous improvement projects across the site.
  • Consistently review sequencing of plans to reduce change overs, meet out loading requirements whilst balancing labour, production and warehousing resources.
  • Close working with the Core Product Planner on shared core book and wafer resources with priorities set by the company.
  • Absence cover for the Core Product Planner.
  • Clear understanding of the financial costs of products and materials used within the company.
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations and company personal hygiene polices.
  • Demonstrate a ‘Can Do’ attitude showing willing and flexibility towards the role.
  • Provide excellent service and support to our internal and external customers.
