Job Purpose:

As a Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer, you will undertake the maintenance and repair of air conditioning equipment including service, maintenance and repair of split AC systems, VRV/VRF systems and heat pumps, You may also be required to work on specific refrigeration equipment such as chilled cabinets / multidecks or ice machines. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of manufacturer plant, for example, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Media, Toshiba and LG, so understanding installation designs and bespoke manufacturer trouble shooting procedures, whilst also being comfortable with seeking manufacturer technical support autonomously is desirable. You will be expected to complete all work-related statutory and business required documentation accurately and on time, keeping logs of inspections reports and remedial work. with repairs completed to achieve the highest level of service for the client, answering queries, reporting any defects and keeping them informed of site activities at the time of the service visit.

Requirements:

  • Experience within a Maintenance / Facilities Management environment
  • Relevant qualifications required e.g. FGAS & ODS regs, time served apprenticeship, C&G Level 3 / NVQ or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working.
  • Capability to perform manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces as well as a willingness to participate in the On-Call Rota.
  • Good verbal and written communication is important, including the ability to use a handheld computer device (PDA).
  • You'll need to be highly self-motivated and solutions focussed with the ability to work without supervision but also enjoy working as part of a team.

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking to recruit Field Service Technician for a permanent role with our client, a specialist manufacturer with several sites across the UK. The Field Service Technician is responsible for the safety, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of the Company packaging equipment in use at our customer's sites.

This role is primarily about supporting our Clients' customers on the M6 corridor ensuring that the Company high speed packaging machines are maintained in excellent condition and run at >98% efficiency. This is a role where you are encouraged to grow your knowledge and experience and become an active member of our Europe Field Service Team. Flexibility is required to cover the UK and European customers.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

  • Ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of Westrock machines
  • Installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance of new machines
  • Proactively monitoring machine performance and intervening to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Proactively managing scheduled maintenance of machines entrusted to you (actively looking for and resolving problems before they become issues for our customers)
  • Assessing machine mechanical wear and conducting the planned replacement worn components
  • Improve the knowledge and skills of customer operators and maintainers and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) where needed.
  • Actively involved with the team to improve our own work practices
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults and quickly escalating to colleagues when required
  • Ensuring that the correct tools, spare parts and consumables are available
  • Input to the continuous improvement of WestRock's machine design

 

 

Education / Experience / Skills

  • Ideally 3 to 5 years' experience of installing, maintaining, and repairing electro-mechanical machinery
  • Knowledge and practical experience of PLCs and Mechatronic systems
  • Independent, customer-oriented way of working
  • Performance-oriented thinking and acting
  • Willingness to challenge "we have always done it like this" thinking
  • Willingness to travel
  • Language: English (Another European language is a plus)
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • LEAN and Six Sigma experience is a plus

Key Duties

  • To maintain a wide range of production equipment and machinery installations.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively in a team environment.
  • Strong health and safety knowledge.
  • Competent to attempt most aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering with little direction.
  • Experienced with the various types of PLCs and able to competently interrogate, fault find and program with little direction.
  • Experienced with control systems and finding potential faults.
