The Role

The production of the monthly management accounts, year-end accounts with auditors other reporting and process requirements and general assistance to the Managing Director.

 

Key Responsibilities

Daily reconciliation of the bank accounts

Control and reconciliation of the petty cash

Processing of the Wages (fortnightly) and Salaries (monthly)

Pensions monthly submission

HMRC reporting (EC Sales, Intrastats, Paye, VAT, P11D, P60)

Process monthly accruals and prepayments

Maintain the fixed asset register and process monthly depreciation journals

Process the monthly journals

Preparation of month end accounts for submission to the MD, then head office (P L / BS / WC / CapEX / 3Month Sales FC)

Preparation of year end accounts, compliance with external full audit at year end

Preparation of budgets

Other duties

Provide holiday cover / extra cover during busy periods for the sales and purchasing teams.

Full responsibility for credit control until we can recruit a credit controller, then overseeing their work

Control of all personnel holiday bookings

Involvement in any projects for the business (i.e. tenders)

Any other duties deemed appropriate for the role

Responsible for signing off all general contracts (i.e. Rubbish collections, maintenance, IT, Alarms)

Performance standards

The ideal candidate will be professional both internally and externally. Experienced in working within a busy, time pressured team. Must work well as part of a team as well as using initiative to work competently alone.

Experience / Skills

Essential

  • Experience of working within a finance/accounting
  • Four years post qualification experience (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience of financial reporting
  • Excel / Word
  • Accurate, timely and efficient
  • Be professional internally and externally
  • Payrol processing

Desirable

  • Experience of multi-currency and consolidated reporting
  • Sage 50 accounts

The Role

  • To undertake the maintenance and repair of the Gas Plant, including fabric & basic electrical tasks of buildings as required under contract
  • To ensure all PPM and Reactive tasks are completed to the required legislative standards
  • To ensure all required paperwork is completed and submitted within timescales
  • Participation on the On-Call Rota

Main Duties

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports
  • To ensure all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed within the required timescales
  • Ensure all certification is correctly completed and remedial works are clearly identified
  • Carry out Reactive and emergency tasks
