Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking to recruit an experienced Embedded Software Engineer for a superb opportunity with our client,  in a highly specialised niche market.

Joining a small team of engineers, you will collaborate to support and refine existing product code and develop structured code for new systems. As an  embedded engineer, you will also be developing embedded software in C/C . You will be working with ARM microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS) and egularly be involved in testing and debugging new solutions on vehicles.

Finally, you should have an analytical mind and be someone who truly enjoys solving complicated problems using both logical and creative approaches. You should have excellent organisational skills and be able to plan different aspects of a project whilst always keeping the final goal in mind. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work productively within a team whilst also being able to complete tasks autonomously.

Due to the hands on nature of our work, this is an office-based role.

 

 

Requirements

A good degree (2:1 or first-class) in software Engineering or another relevant subject

 

Desirable skills:

Experience in a similar environment using embedded C/C

Strong software debugging skills

Understanding of electronics schematic drawings & automotive electrical wiring

Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, LIN)

Experience developing on ARM Cortex Microcontrollers such as STM32 & Nordic nRF51822 series

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

 

Salary is negotaible depending on skills and experience 

25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays and being part of a great team in brand new offices in Cardiff.

Role Purpose

The Laboratory Technician role is a generalist Laboratory role, conducting day to day testing and monitoring of the chemical production environment as per the testing schedules. Working with the team, the Laboratory Technician will perform the day to day testing and monitoring of samples; escalating issues and concerns as per the escalation process.

Following the agreed testing guidelines as set out within departmental policy, procedures and operational practices, the laboratory technician is responsible to monitor and communicate results from testing in order that technical issues can be prevented and that the environment can be closely monitored to address issues in a timely manner.

This role is vital to support production quality and plating performance for the volume of work as per requirements.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

      Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual testing as per the laboratory testing schedule (as per business requirements).

Communicate test fails and escalate issues as per the escalation process.

Make additions to process solutions in a safe manner as per H&S instructions and procedures

Work proactively to support production and inspection making recommendations and suggestions to address test fails in order to close technical issues in a timely manner.

Supporting quality and production during internal and external audits.

To ensure 5S principles are followed; maintaining an environment that supports efficient working and a methodical approach.

To look after laboratory equipment maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility.

To order and maintain stock and resources.

To perform other duties as may be assigned by the line manager or as per the requirements of the business.

      Departmental data (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost)

Turnaround time for addressing technical issues

Up to date record keeping and supporting documentation

While the role is primarily to set and run centre lathes, experience on turret and bed mills is also highly desirable. The production operative will work safely on a number of machines or processes and will be expected to meet set production and quality targets on a daily basis.

Required Skills:

Conventional turner should be a formally qualified apprentice with ideally 3-5 years of experience of working in a production environment. If not apprentice qualified, then they should be time served, preferably with about 5-7 years of experience of working on centre lathes in a production environment.

- Knowledge of machining composite materials (desirable). Turners should be confident in turning parts ranging from 5mm in diameter up to 1800mm in diameter and possibly even bigger in future. Part lengths will range from around 2mm up 3000mm.

- Machinists must be confident in their abilities to calculate angles, radii etc to meet customer drawing features. Likewise, the ability to design and where necessary make tooling to aid in the machining of specific features will be highly advantageous.

- Majority of items to be machined will be washers, flanged bushes, plain bushes, grooved bearings and split bearings. Experience of eccentric turning and trepanning is also required.

- The machines to be used range from small lathes such as a Holroyd groover and Colchester student lathe to mid-range lathes such as Broadbent Stanley 3m long bed lathe and Cochester Mastiff lathe. Various vertical borers will also be used so experience on those will be beneficial.

- Operators self-inspect their work with operation First Off's having a secondary inspection performed by a fellow operator before being signed off. As such, it is expected that skilled operators will be confident in the use of standard hand-held inspection equipment with knowledge of CMM and Shadowgraph use considered an advantage.

- Experience of working in a target driven production environment

- Furthermore, as skilled machinists it is expected that they will be able to read and interpret engineering drawings with a good understanding of the related G,D & T symbols and how they apply to the part.

Responsibilities

- Ensure any activities you carry out are done with Health and Safety criteria at the forefront - i.e ensure Safe Working Procedures, Risk Assessments and Lock out/Tag Out procedures are read and understood before operating any equipment on site.

- Raise any performance or H&S issues immediately with the shift leader or supervisor.

- Meet production and quality criteria on a daily basis.

- Ensure documentation is completed fully and accurately when performing any duties on the shop floor.

- Carry out quality checks on products and record the information accurately.

- Make suggestions on how to improve the processes in relation to production quality or manufacturing time.

- Maintain a high level of housekeeping standards in any area you operate

- Assist in training and mentoring new operatives and apprentices in that cell

- To carry out additional reasonable duties as required by business needs.

Job Purpose

Customer Services Administrator is the first point of contact to customers to meet their needs and ensure that they get maximum value from the business (dealing with inquiries via phone calls, emails and resolving them).

Customer Services Administrator is responsible for effectively administering the data entry requirements for the quotation process in line with the sales order process and for providing Admin support for other Commercial Team Members.

Responsibilities

· Pivotal role assisting between Customer, Supplier, Design, Purchasing, Production Scheduling, Accounts and Senior Management.

· First point of contact for customers assisting with any queries or redirecting calls to the relevant person/department.

· Cross-checking each quote and DFAs against the customer PO or all customer enquiry requirement correspondence prior to raising orders to reduce errors, remakes and customer complaints.

· Ensure purchase orders are or agreed customer reference numbers in place for each Customer Order to prevent delay of payment.

· Accurate raising of sales orders in line with customer requirements i.e. phasing

· Accurate monitoring of the contract review, contract review amendment and delivery improvement request processes ensuring they are actioned and returned from Design, Purchasing & Scheduling within 72hours (unless large project) ready for customer acknowledgement.

· Issuing customer delivery acknowledgements

· Issuing transport booking requests to the Logistics Administrator in line with customer delivery expectations and vehicle/offload restrictions.

· Assisting Accounts with internal enquiries, dispute investigating & credit reporting.

· Raising and assisting with the investigation of customer complaints and resolving in a timely manner.

· Maintaining the sales order backlog ensuring all orders are shipped and invoiced and closed from previous week.

· Record and maintain data accurately to assist department reporting i.e. Orders raised, 'free of charge' orders, credits to be raised, CRM.

· End of month, ensuring all orders are shipped, invoiced, and closed on the last working day of each month.

· Work within the guidelines laid out in current Eurobond procedures/working practices i.e. credit control.
