Overview:

On behalf of our client, we are on the lookout for a Junior Software Developer. This person will be reporting to the Finance and Operations Director and assist with the maintenance and development of the system. Working also to resolve end-user queries with the software, this person will require strong communication skills and a natural problem solver.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Junior Software Developer:

  • Maintain and improve existing SOS scripts using bespoke programming language.
  • Provide first line help desk support across the business.
  • Guide and train the system users.
  • Resolve user queries through identifying script issues.
  • Liaise with the Management Team and Heads of Department to assist in the specification of solutions.
  • Arrange for solutions to be trailed and tested.
  • Input and identify new ideas and software’s in aid of enhancing the business’s efficiency and customer experience.  
  • Assist with the workload of the team.
  • Comply with the company procedures and industry standards.

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

  • Confident communicator across written and verbal.
  • Understanding of programming concepts and constructs gained in any language.
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, from design through programming, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relational databases to include the extraction of data using SQL or other database query language.
  • Natural problem solver and logical thinker with the drive to resolve problems.
  • Open to deliver training to non-technical staff.
