This position will be based initially at our clients Sowton Industrial Estate site but have exciting plans to move to a state-of-the-art purpose built offices and manufacturing facility at Skypark, near Exeter Airport in the spring of 2023.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Group's IT networks and communications are well s=designed, secure, optimal and functional consistently across all internal and external operations.
Duties as an IT Network Engineer:
Monitor and administer the installation and integration of corporate network communications including routers, switches, firewalls, DMZ, services, telephony and LAN / WAN communication services
Manage the IP space across the organization ensuring VLAN's, IP subnet, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and VoIP traffic is well designed, secure and optimized
Ensure best practices are used for protecting network security
Plan lifecycle renewals, hotswap procedures and emergency hardware failure protocols.
Provide regular service status updates to line management and agree and monitor service availability targets
Ensure the active/active WAN bandwidth and connectivity services are sufficient, balanced and perform efficiently. Plan and test failover of critical operational services.
Research latest networking developments and recommend any actions that will improve network performance and security.
Work closely with NIBE SOC teams and internal security engineers to ensure all preventative security measures are implemented.
Ensure all network hardware assets are identifiable and updated in the asset management system

About you:
At least 5 years' experience in a technical IT role maintain secure networks in a MS Windows environment

Firewall configuration, management and monitoring experience is essential
Cat6 and fibre communication protocol skills are essential
