The Company

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are working with a client who are the UK’s largest purchaser and recycler of glass and they are now looking for a new Plant Operative to join their dynamic team in Knottingley.

Main Responsibilities of the Plant Operative

  • The Plant Operative must continuously monitor the flow of material through the plant and the various processing and sorting machines in a proactive manner that maximises the throughput, achieves the maximum efficiency possible whilst making sure that all quality specifications are met.
  • Be fully trained to operate and maintain all processing plant machines and have the necessary skills required to carry out productive maintenance as required throughout the shift and during plant outages for PPM.
  • As the Plant Operative you must make sure that at the start and end of every shift the relevant paperwork is completed accurately to confirm that an effective shift hand over has taken place, everything that needed to be communicated from the previous shifts Plant Operatives has been and that the Plant has been handed over so that it can be operated in a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all plant screens are kept clean throughout the shift are free from damage and any finger bars or screen meshes that need changing through wear are done so in a timely and effective manner.

Experience and Skills required

  • The Plant Operative must have a good knowledge of health and safety practices
  • Hold a current FLT license 
  • Proven track record in continuous improvement techniques                                       
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

Requirements: 

  • You will need to have as a minimum a NEBOSH Fire Certificate (full) or other recognised fire qualification.
  • It will be necessary to provide evidence in respect to experience, knowledge and qualifications in undertaking fire risk assessments.
  • A qualification in Health and Safety would be an advantage.
  • You should have a proven track record in producing high quality detailed reports.
  • A full driving license is essential for this role.

Role Overview

In your new role as an Air Conditioning Engineer you will be efficiently operating and maintaining new and existing building AC/HVAC services, carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance & Reactive Maintenance on HVAC appliances, carry out diagnostic checks and fault finding.   • City & Guilds Refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems (6090) Level 3 only.
  • F-Gas Category 1 (City & Guilds 2079, was 2078 Safe Handling of Refrigerants)
  • Time served in an Air Con specific service role (not installation), likely to be at least 5 years.
  • Experience with Packaged or Air handling equipment preferable, as well as split type systems.
  • Experience working on commercial equipment, not domestic Installers.
