Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for 2 Accounts Managers to join our clients accountancy practice in Newton Abbot on a permanent contract.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the delivery of a range of compliance related services, whilst building long standing relationships with clients ensuring that you become their trusted advisor and actively contribute towards success of the business.

You will be a qualified accountant with a background within an accountancy practice and will be well placed to make an immediate impact with a portfolio of clients. You will be working on a range of clients to include sole traders, partnerships and limited companies to provide a high-quality tax, accountancy and VAT service with a high degree of accuracy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

      Planning and reviewing accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies

Sending final accounts to clients

Giving tax advice

Forecasting work

Managing client portfolio including billing

Preparation of management and financial accounts

Preparing partners for meetings

Control of working progress and invoicing clients

Production of VAT and Corporate Tax returns

Identifying and delivering advisory services that may benefit your clients, including areas such as cloud accounting and systems support

Dealing with everyday correspondence and emails

Participating in business development activities

Coaching and developing junior members of the team

About you:

      ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 1 year post qualification experience or qualified by experience

Accounts preparation experi3ence gained from within a fast-paced accountancy practice environment

Strong computer and Excel skills

Knowledge of accountancy software such as Sage, QuickBooks or Xero, as well as accounts production software such as CCH

Ability to show initiative and work well as a team

Ability to build good client relationships

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organizational skills and able to manage own workload in a timely manner

The Role

Responsibilities will also include financial risk management.

Duties

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, Accounts receivable, accounts payable, and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process according to group policies and procedures.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with UK government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Additional controller duties as necessary.
  • Manage company payroll and pensions duties.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
  • 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • UK passport holder.
  • No criminal record with willingness to undergo UK government security checks

  • Ensuring all training information is recorded on the system – training activities, attendance, if the training has been completed and the outcome/evaluations.
  • When necessary, providing admin support with any relevant training tasks, this will include budgeting & tracking any expenses.

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience within a similar position
  • You will ideally have an understanding of HERS.
  • Previously worked with online learning platforms
  • Must be meticulous and organised
  • You will need to have the ability to work independently.

Role: Permanent

Location: Basildon

Hours: Monday - Friday 08:30hrs - 17:30hrs  (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Salary Range: £27,000 - £29,000 (DOE) per annum

An excellent opportunity has arisen with our client based in Basildon for a Customer Service Operator to work with in the Freight Forwarding department. You will be responsible for supporting the Customer Services team.

Key roles and responsibilities

  • Ensure customer Bookings are accurately taken and entered operations system, International, National, and cross trade.
  • Booking deliveries in with customers.
  • Liaising with suppliers / Origin Offices.
  • Build strong relationships with customers.
  • Invoicing and administration.
  • Ensure Bookings made with Origin office.
  • Aid Credit Controllers with the collection of overdue payments from suppliers or clients.

 

Skills, experience, and competencies

  • Be able to prioritise own workload but also be able to work as part of a team.
  • Be fully conversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and systems.
  • Have excellent communication skills over the telephone and e-mail.
  • Have experience with Excel reporting.
  • Have good team working skills.
  • Have good understanding of logistics processes and procedures.
