An opportunity has arisen for Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join our clients team. The position will involve a high degree of responsibility and to provide engineering support and expertise to the production processes within the areas of responsibility.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and expertise as directed by the area Engineering Manager.
• Execute planned preventative maintenance tasks according to the plant schedule.
• Carry out fault diagnosis of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and provide rapid response to breakdown situations.
• Auditing safety systems, ensuring that safe working conditions are always maintained.
• Ensure safe systems of work policy and Risk Assessments are adhered to.
• Adopt a working style that will continually improve and enhance work practices.
• Investigate methods of reducing plant downtime and increasing efficiencies.
• Carry out Health and Safety, (6s) improvements within the areas of responsibility.
• Ensure as part of the engineering team that safe working condtions are always maintained with company 5's and Risk Assessment policies both in associated areas and responsible plant equipment.
• Ensure that all engineering plant areas are correctly serviced, maintained and calibrated.
• To always act in a safe way ensuring the health and safety of self and others.

SERVICE ENGINEER / BRISTOL - PERMANENT ROLE

Location: Bradley Stoke, Bristol

Assignment: Permanent contract

Hours: 4 on, 4 off nights 19:00pm - 07:00am

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, acting as an employment business, are currently recruiting for 2 Service Engineers on permanent contracts, one on day shifts and one on night shifts based in Bradley Stoke.

The successful candidates will be responsible for identifying and fixing faults on mailing machines and associated equipment. To assist production in gaining best running speeds whilst reducing remake waste to continually improve efficiencies through production.

Duties as a Service Engineer:

• Report all Health and Safety matters immediately to Manager and follow SSOW
• To comply with the Information Security Management Systems and its associated policies
• Effect repairs to mailing machines and associated equipment where necessary, such as mechanical fault repairs
• Maintain, support and service any piece of production associated equipment, Cutters and Strapping machines
• Liaise with Production Management Teams on machine performance problems and improvements
• Provide ideas and feedback to the Production Management teams on machine problems
• Maintain proper administration of parts usage
• Communicate effectively problems and solutions either written or verbally
• Communicate to relevant stakeholders information that can assist the site to have a greater efficiency
• Be a strong continuous improvement leader, look for opportunities, report on successes and failures
• Mentor machine operators in order to enhance their operating skills
• Be pro-active at all times to help maximize productivity
• Highlight and bring to Managers attention any exposure to risk for the department or business
• Ensure a clear and precise handover is given to the oncoming team members
• To keep the work area clean and tidy at all times

About you:

• Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment
• Good diagnostic skills
• Ability to follow electrical diagrams
• Can work as part of a team
• Ability to do board level repairs preferred but not essential
• Practical maintenance engineering background with electrical emphasis preferred

This is a superb opportunity for someone to join a successful and innovative company with potential to progress into Account Management. The office is brand new and in an excellent location.

This is a very busy multi-tasking role which requires excellent communication skills and proven telephone skills in a similar role. Candidates should be highly presentable, educated to degree level with a high level of self-motivation and be articulate and professional.

Your time initially will be spent learning the basics e.g. studying our products, liaising with our UK and foreign customers on the phone and providing all aspects of administration within the office including sales order processing, answering telephone enquiries from customers and suppliers, providing quotes, taking, placing, and organising the despatch of orders including packing and liaising with the technical workshop. You will also provide be involved in maintaining databases and collating data for sales and marketing reports.

Once competent in the above duties, you will take on responsibility under the guidance of sales management for the day-to-day account management of our some of our UK and foreign customer base, as well as working on telemarketing campaigns to promote our products within our niche market. While this is not a sales role, you should be highly competent on the phone and have proven experience in a sales or telemarketing role.

Project Engineers

Location: Gloucester

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.45pm, Friday 8am to 12.30pm

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000(DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing all project scope and technical documentation
• Checking drawings and technical specifications from clients and suppliers
• Obtaining quotations for products and services
• Raising manufacturing requests for materials / tools / equipment that are supplied in-house
• Placing orders for products and services using Company financial systems
• Overseeing in-house engineering design of mould tooling and providing project approval
• Monitoring and expediting delivery of in-house and supplier provided items
• Arranging and coordinating logistics, utilising Company transportation subcontractors
• Ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with Company and legislative procedures
• Working in line with requirements of quality, health and safety, and environmental management systems

An integral part of this role involves site visits and activities where you will be responsible for:

• Coordinating field personnel for site works and producing site handover packs
• Supporting the Senior Project Manager with detailed site schedule planning
• Monitoring and supporting site activities, liaising daily with Site Managers/Supervisors
• Obtaining and reviewing necessary site paperwork
• Collation and submittal of Manufacturing Record Books detailing completed site activities

Controls Engineer

Role Responsibilities

• To repair and maintain electronic control equipment, PLCs and Instrumentation throughout the site. The work includes but is not exclusive to the following examples.
• Repairs, maintains and where applicable modifies various types of electronic control equipment, instrumentation, and PLC's across the site. electronic control modules for extrusion and forge presses.
• Use of PLC diagnostics functions to aid fault diagnosis.
• Maintain and setup of furnace atmosphere and temperature control equipment during routine calibration and breakdown situations.
• Maintain and where required install/replace AC/DC Inverter drives.
• To perform Calibration of Temperature, pressure, vacuum and other Instrumentation.
• Calibration of combustion systems to Rolls Royce and Aerospace specifications.
• Site wide calibration of Pressure and Vacuum instrumentation.
• To implement software / hardware modifications to electrical control equipment, PLC's and Instrumentation.
• Hardware replacement where required to ensure serviceable spares availability.
• PLC code alterations implementing process improvements.
• To, repair and maintain combustion systems.
• Setup of combustion systems during furnace calibrations.
• Tuning of combustion control systems to achieve the required specifications.
• Inspect and identify issues with combustion systems during preventative maintenance routines.
• Provides diagnostic and technical advice to the Engineering Personnel, Production and Technical functions.
• Can foster close working relationships with the IT department when updating and maintaining data acquisition equipment, or when machine connection across the company wide network is required for SCADA and data acquisition systems.

Skills and Experience

HNC or C&G Technician Certificate or NVQ level 3 in relevant discipline
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role
