The Firm

Hawk 3 Talent have bene retained to secure Legal Assistants to join a UK Regional Firm in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The focus of this role will be to bolster their Conveyancing and Commercial Property departments and get upskilled by the firm to act as a Conveyancing Paralegal down the line.

Candidates with experience in Property Finance, Residential Conveyancing or Commercial Conveyancing with experience providing administrative support to Fee Earners are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Role

The Firm has expertise in Conveyancing, and they are now looking for a Conveyancing Administrator to join them.

The firm focuses on work in the Conveyancing department such as.

      Supporting Fee Earners with the day to day running of files.

Preparation of contracts and supporting documents.

Title checking

Checking official copy documents.

Liaising with client and third-party dealing calls and updates;

Conducting legal research if necessary.

The purpose of the role is to support the day-to-day activities of the Fee Earners as well as general administrative duties put forward by senior members of staff.

Full training will be provided on the firm's case management system.

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking for an experienced Software Developer to maintain and develop the Case Management Software for a company based in Birmingham. You will provide support and assistance to end users.

This role could be fully remote or hybrid.

Duties

  • Maintain and improve existing SOS scripts and functionality.
  • Fault find scripting issues in response to user submitted help desk logs.
  • Design and specify solutions in response to system enhancements requested within the business.
  • Develop solutions using SOS Legal bespoke integrated development environment (or external tools where required)
  • Develop and maintain document precedent templates based on user requirements
  • Arrange for solutions to be tested by the appropriate person(s)
  • Undertake general case management admin, such as setting up new users, changing software permissions, or adding new branches.
  • Assist end users with any questions or issues arising from case management system usage
  • Assist and cover team members as and when required
  • Maintain and encourage paper-light procedures

Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • Experience working within a solicitor’s practice
  • Sound knowledge of legal case management software, to include the creation of workflows and bespoke templates
  • Basic understanding of legal accounts and the Solicitors Accounts rules
  • Ability to diagnose problems and to plan effective and timely solutions
  • Confident communicator (both written and oral)
  • Motivated and organised team player with a structured reliable approach to both resolving issues and developing solutions
  • Strong work ethic and able to work on own initiative
  • Good listening and problem solving skills - a logical thinker with the ability to communicate technical issues simply and effectively
  • Passionate about giving outstanding client care to clients and referrers
  • Excellent administrative, planning and organisation skills to meet deadlines, understanding the importance of working to strict timescales
  • Proficient in the use of all MS Office applications, email and Internet resources
  • Pro-active and self-motivated with a desire to learn / progress in a career within the law.
