Mobile Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Maidstone, Kent area

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday - 48 hours - Overtime rate of 1.5x is paid after 48 hrs

Salary: £10.65ph (£26,582 per annum basic)

As a Mobile Field Service Operative you will be required to:

    • To repair and maintain / service various retail equipment at supermarkets and distribution centre locations.
    • Ability to use various power tools and hand tools.
    • Must live in the agreed catchment area.
    • Previous experience in MIG welding advantageous, however full training and welding coding supplied.
    • Must hold a driving licence for ability to drive a small van.

Ability to navigate simple mobile device applications

Ensure all work is to the standard agreed at the completion of your training

The specific requirements for this role are.

      Must live no further than 10 miles in other directions

Full UK driving licence essential with minimal endorsements

Must be punctual and reliable

Must have a friendly and professional manner and solid customer service skills

MIG welding experience desirable though not essential (full training given)

Previous experience in mobile service desirable though not essential

To comply with Companies Facial Hair Policy, you must be clean shaven in order to wear the required Respiratory Protective Equipment required for welding and grinding as per legislation. This applies to all employees, however, alternative RPE is provided for those with relevant religious beliefs or medical conditions.

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting for a company based near Wigan. Due to expansion, my client is currently recruiting for a new Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

Key Duties

  • To maintain a wide range of production equipment and machinery installations.
  • On-line fault finding
  • Introducing process improvements
  • Participating in capital expenditure projects to increase outputs and improve efficiencies
  • Development and introduction of a formalised preventative maintenance program
  • To gain a wide, in-depth knowledge of the current production facility, equipment and Participate in continuous improvement activities to maximise machine utilisation, decrease cycle times, and improve labour recoveries
  • Fault finding and repair of all plant, machinery, and equipment.
  • Carry out checks and inspection of plant, machinery, and equipment
  • Liaise with external contractors
 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Will either be a time served fitter/engineer or have a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Mechanical Electrical Engineering including at least 17th Edition.
  • Have experience in fault finding, repair and general maintenance of machinery, hydraulics, electrics, and other production associated systems.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively in a team environment.
  • Strong health and safety knowledge.
  • Competent to attempt most aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering with little direction.
  • Experienced with the various types of PLCs and able to competently interrogate, fault find and program with little direction.
  • Experienced with control systems and finding potential faults.
  • Able to read schematic drawings and diagnose faults quickly & accurately.
  • Experienced with all aspects of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Competent using MIG, TIG and electric arc welding equipment.
  • Experienced in continuous improvements techniques preferred.

Summary:

Our client is UK specialist in composites and mouldings based in Gloucester are currently recruiting for a Technical Lead -Composites to join their team. The Technical Lead will manage the delivery of engineering projects within the Composite products business unit, this will include solution development, preparation of enquiry responses, de-risking activities, validation activities, product ionisation, development projects and improvement projects. The role will require project ownership from conception through to production.

The Technical Lead will become the business expert for a given product set and work as part of a wider team of specialists, offering task management and expertise in the field of mechanical design engineering. This role will contribute to exciting civilian and defence projects.

Required Duties:

      Lead the delivery of engineering projects including enquiry responses & development projects

Manage the development of new products and processes

Specification & execution of test programs for development and validation of new products

Supporting the business development team with on-site visits, customer calls and event

attendance

Acting as a point of contact for suppliers, customers, sister sites and internal departments

Become the technical expert in the business for a product range

Mechanical design engineering with composite & metallic materials

Completion of numerical and mechanical analysis, as required to demonstrate and validate

products

Occasional UK travel likely, infrequent overseas travel possible

Skills Required :

      Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role

Well organised and comfortable completing multiple projects concurrently

Experience in technical writing of reports

Experience of preparing technical summaries, proposals and presentations

Basic knowledge of stress analysis by FEA & Hand Calc

Demonstrable experience in mechanical design engineering

Familiarity with composite materials desirable

Familiarity with aerospace and/or defence industry desirable

The successful candidate will build a comprehensive understanding of TPU film applications. Required Duties:
