The Role
As an Electrical Craft Team Member, you will perform preventative maintenance and inspection work, providing expertise and resource to identify and rectify faults in complex systems to ensure manufacturing continuity.
You'll be responsible for ensuring all activity is undertaken within Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and in compliance with company and legislative requirements. The Electrical Craft Team Member will work as part of a team to ensure manufacturing performance on an ongoing basis, support manufacturing development plans and identify opportunities for improvement.
Your key responsibilities, will include:
Providing engineering expertise & advise in order to diagnose and correct complex faults in the manufacturing process equipment.
Developing expertise and keeping up to date in maintenance techniques and equipment development applicable to a heavy manufacturing environment by self-study and attendance on appropriate courses.
Providing comprehensive reports on breakdowns, repairs and related engineering activities where appropriate recommending improvements to equipment or systems.
Undertaking training as required for new specialists, other engineering grades, and manufacturing teams.
Supervising Tata Steel or contract personnel and where necessary issue certificates of isolation as part of the safe system of work.
Being familiar with many specific, modern day electrical systems including PLC's, Drives, AC & DC motor circuitry and be able to read and interpret electrical wiring and schematic drawings.
The Candidate
- Ideally, you'll be qualified to HNC level, which will have normally been obtained through a craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering or hold a Modern Apprenticeship certificate.
The Electrical Craft Team Member will be required to have relevant plant experience in electrical systems and be capable of supervising personnel in the safe execution of engineering repair work.
We require employees to have the ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be computer literate. The ability to work without close supervision, yet under pressure and to tight timescales is essential.

Purpose of the role

This Job Description is intended as a guide to the type of role the Job Holder is expected to perform. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Producing all monthly production and quality KPI's relevant to areas of responsibility.
Ensure adherence to all Productivity and Quality KPI's.
Understanding lean principles and leading cost reduction projects and productivity improvements within area of responsibility
Being Health and Safety focused at all times by contributing to the standards within the site and identifying any non-conforming areas
Leading GEMBA walks in line with A3 Strategic review
Managing the engineering and cleaning crew with clear objectives and regular reviews

Taking ownership of projects and ensuring that all project deliverables are achieved in agreed timescales
Understanding customer requirements and liaising where required in good time with the internal customer services department when issues arise
Owning the site planned preventative maintenance program in both the print and finishing departments by managing overhauls of key equipment

Validate all data taken from SFDC and prepare reports in standard format

Motivating and incentivising team members with prompt feedback, site relevant information and improvement requirements - Clearly leading the daily management meeting

QUALIFICATONS:
The successful candidate should preferably have previous experience of working within a similar role gained within the manufacturing industry. Candidates must be able to demonstrate consistent decision making, project management and problem solving skills. You will be communicating at all levels, so ability to work using your own initiative as well as part of a team is essential.
The successful candidate must be computer literate and have an understanding of computer systemsShould possess a third level qualification, preferably to Degree level
Have strong knowledge of Pharma / Life Sciences customer quality and delivery requirements
Technical knowledge of Prepress, Print and Finishing would be an advantage
Logistical, analytical and organisational skills.
Strong Engineering background highly desirable
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
Numerical / Verbal reasoning skills
