Main Purpose of Role

To effectively plan customer requirements to achieve expected delivery dates, maximising Company efficiency with minimum inventory levels. Due to expansion, our client is looking to recruit a Planner to join their company.

Outcomes of Role

  • 100% OTIF - Customer orders are delivered on time and in full.
  • All customer requirements are clearly understood and entered into MRP system, reconciled with the BDG Sales forecast - Customer by Customer.
  • Clear visibility and achievement of the planned production is available on a daily/weekly basis which, where required, is communicated to the Customer (via BDG).
  • Despatch requirements are clearly communicated via a weekly Despatch plan on and adhered to.
  • Inventory levels are at the agreed (with Customer via BDG) minimum required to achieve customer deliveries effectively.
  • Management of production works orders to eliminate aged orders.

Job Scope

  • Enter all customer requirements into MRP system, taking into account material lead-time considerations.
  • Undertake regular reviews of order book loaded with BDG and / or customer.
  • Ensure short lead time orders are negotiated and agreed with purchasing prior to loading in MRP.
  • Run MRP process ensuring MRP output is as stable as reasonably possible.
  • Manage the implementation of ECNs at build level.
  • Create all manufacturing works orders, and subsequent management of those orders.
  • Maintain ERP parameters where appropriate.
  • Ensure material kit picking requirements are scheduled and adhered too.
  • Monitor and progress orders through production.
  • Work closely with production to balance workload to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain the despatch plan with Logistics.
  • Ensure expected delivery dates are readily available to customers.
  • Ownership for individual customer OTIF results.
  • Liaise with other departments to assess risks to plan and produce appropriate alternatives solutions where required.
  • Coordinate necessary activities with support departments to assist manufacturing and buisness requirements.
  • Maintain deptartment SOPs.
  • Ensure that all company operating values and compliance procedures are adhered to at all times, including quality management, health and safety, legal stipulation, environmental policies and general duty of care.
  • Any other duties deemed necessary.

  • To be agreed with your Line Manager

Knowledge/Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience within the electronics industry preferable

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking to recruit a Business Development Executive for our client, a specialist manufacturer based on the outskirts of Newport, South Wales.

 

Purpose of Role

Ownership of key commercial accounts within the Specialised Applications Business Unit, ensuring annual sales and 3-year vision is met. Provision of day-to-day customer interface for technical and commercial related matters during the prospecting stage, whilst identifying and pursuing new business development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the defined sales area and to develop the customers from both an internal and external perspective.
  • Develop long?term relationships at all levels and with key stakeholders at customer sites.
  • Key account management of strategically significant accounts to ensure all new business opportunities are maximised for the Aftermarket & Specialised Applications Business Unit.
  • Identifying new market opportunities, new products, and new customers.
  • Working towards exceeding sales targets and achieving predetermined individual and departmental objectives.
  • Managing a structured customer visit program, emphasizing UK/Foreign customers for development on a strategic/value rated basis.
  • Meeting with vehicle and systems manufacturers for technical project reviews and providing solutions to technical problems (training provided)
  • Monitoring sales performance of the customer portfolio, identifying areas for improvement and sales growth
  • Completing brief monthly sales report each month to give an executive summary of the defined areas sales performance, new business development and objectives for the next month
  • Identifying and attending relevant trade related shows and exhibitions, either as visitor or exhibitor.
  • Ensure all contracts are reviewed and signed off in line with the Group Contract Review policy.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant degree would be desirable.
  • Maintain a high standard of Health and Safety based upon safe working practices and support environmental initiatives.
  • Accomplished sales professional with a proven track record of identifying, managing and exceeding sales targets.
  • A strong communicator, with excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively, both autonomously and contribute as an active team member.
  • Ability to listen and identify customer needs and translate these into sales/further business development opportunities.
  • Sales experience within an engineering or manufacturing background (desirable)
  • Having a keen interest in Vehicles/Engines/Technical (desirable)
  • Collaborate with other Senior Plc businesses to ensure wider revenue generation opportunities are realised.
  • Ensure that all work activities and records comply with Company Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice.
  • Be driven with a hunger and passion to generate new business and work with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions.
  • Demonstrate tenacity in striving to be better than the competition.

Summary:

Our client is UK specialist in composites and mouldings based in Gloucester are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team. Some of the duties are to maintain thermal oil presses, pumps, CNC, water jet and lathers to name a few. This is a very diverse role, which can include facility work, electrical and mechanical. You will be reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor or/and Manager

Required Duties:

- Maintenance and repairs on a range of industrial factory equipment

- Electrical, Single, 3 phase Motors and PLCs

- Mechanical engineering, Pneumatics, bearings, pumps, valves, chains and boilers, CNC routers and water jets

- Able to work well in a team

- Provide a reactive and proactive maintenance service

- Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service, which covers electrical and mechanical disciplines

- Provide a service that ensures all mechanical and electrical equipment is running to optimum performance

- Provide a service that ensures all key performance indicators are met

- Carry out modifications and installations when required

- Liaise with sub-contractors and external suppliers

- Take ownership of tools and equipment provided and ensure they are maintained to an appropriate standard

Skills Required :

- Time served maintenance engineer is preferred, City and Guilds or NVQ an advantage but not critical.

Summary:

Our client is UK specialist in composites and mouldings based in Gloucester are currently recruiting for a Manual Turner to join them. It is an exciting time to join a fast-growing company where opportunities have arisen for a right candidate. Skilled conventional turner required to work on a variety of production machinery. While the role is primarily to set and run centre lathes, experience on turret and bed mills is also highly desirable. The production operative will work safely on a number of machines or processes and will be expected to meet set production and quality targets on a daily basis.

Required Skills:

Conventional turner should be a formally qualified apprentice with ideally 3-5 years of experience of working in a production environment. If not apprentice qualified, then they should be time served, preferably with about 5-7 years of experience of working on centre lathes in a production environment.

- Knowledge of machining composite materials (desirable). Turners should be confident in turning parts ranging from 5mm in diameter up to 1800mm in diameter and possibly even bigger in future. Part lengths will range from around 2mm up 3000mm.

- Machinists must be confident in their abilities to calculate angles, radii etc to meet customer drawing features. Likewise, the ability to design and where necessary make tooling to aid in the machining of specific features will be highly advantageous.

- Majority of items to be machined will be washers, flanged bushes, plain bushes, grooved bearings and split bearings. Experience of eccentric turning and trepanning is also required.

- The machines to be used range from small lathes such as a Holroyd groover and Colchester student lathe to mid-range lathes such as Broadbent Stanley 3m long bed lathe and Cochester Mastiff lathe. Various vertical borers will also be used so experience on those will be beneficial.

- Operators self-inspect their work with operation First Off's having a secondary inspection performed by a fellow operator before being signed off. As such, it is expected that skilled operators will be confident in the use of standard hand-held inspection equipment with knowledge of CMM and Shadowgraph use considered an advantage.

- Experience of working in a target driven production environment

- Furthermore, as skilled machinists it is expected that they will be able to read and interpret engineering drawings with a good understanding of the related G,D & T symbols and how they apply to the part.

Responsibilities

- Ensure any activities you carry out are done with Health and Safety criteria at the forefront - i.e ensure Safe Working Procedures, Risk Assessments and Lock out/Tag Out procedures are read and understood before operating any equipment on site.

- Raise any performance or H&S issues immediately with the shift leader or supervisor.

- Meet production and quality criteria on a daily basis.

- Ensure documentation is completed fully and accurately when performing any duties on the shop floor.

- Carry out quality checks on products and record the information accurately.

- Make suggestions on how to improve the processes in relation to production quality or manufacturing time.

- Maintain a high level of housekeeping standards in any area you operate

- Assist in training and mentoring new operatives and apprentices in that cell

- To carry out additional reasonable duties as required by business needs.
