The Company

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are working with a client who are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join their team in the Wrexham depot to take responsibility for the timely traffic planning of routes and scheduling delivery times to ensure that the customer receives a first-class service in a cost-effective way. You will be required to work 10 extra shifts as part of the offered salary. From the 11th extra shift you will be paid an extra shifts rate overtime.

Main Responsibilities of the Transport Planner

  • The Transport Planner will be responsible for monitoring compliance and work with drivers and compliance to eliminate infringements
  • Must ensure that all drivers are aware of SAFED
  • Working with customers/suppliers/drivers and other traffic desks, planning routes and scheduling delivery times to ensure smooth running of the operation
  • Working proactively to reduce late deliveries
  • As the Transport Planner, you will need to check all driving licences and make sure that drivers are compliant and legal

Experience and Skills required

  • The successful candidate will need experience dealing with VOSA compliance
  • You will need to be a logical thinker
  • Have the ability to work unsupervised with time management skills
  • Excellent geographical knowledge

The Role:

The successful Project Buyer will be accountable for the efficient planning, execution, and quality of all buying and procurement activities for key projects.

· Acts as the interface between the various operations or project personnel

· Ensure the quality of delivery and service

· Negotiate, prepare and approve external agreements

· Manage any supplier complaints

· Manage financial reporting for each business transaction

· Track all stages relating to purchasing up to final acceptance

· The role will involve sourcing, building, and maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring materials are purchased on time and to a high quality.

· Maintain the purchase records and important data on the systems (ERP/MRP)

· Process requisitions and material orders to quality, time, price, and quality

· Expedite orders

· Send out inquiries for quotations

· Preparation of spreadsheets for expediting and costing.

· Preparation of progress reports

· Sealing of sub-contracts.

Experience Required:

 A level, or equivalent (foundation degree or HND)

· CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations

· CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply

· CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply

· Project management qualification or relevant experience

· Analysing drawings, bills of materials, and other project documentation to estimate costs.

· Identification and assessment of new vendors

· Working proactively to resolve any supply issues

· Knowledge and understanding of construction materials

· Strong budgeting abilities

The Role
