The Company

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are working with a client who are based in South Kirkby and are looking for an LGV Fitter to join their dynamic team with the opportunity to complete Class 1 license after 12 months. Our client is the leading glass recyclers in the UK.

Main Responsibilities of the LGV Fitter

  • As the LGV Fitter you will need to diagnose issues, fix, and maintain all vehicles and trailers in fleet as required.
  • As part of the role, you will have to service vehicles and trailers as required
  • Inspect vehicles within the SMI requirements
  • The LGV Fitter will need to ensure all risk assessments are carried out and recorded
  • Ensure that the workshop and surrounding areas are always kept clean and tidy
  • Keep all vehicle records
  • Ensure all company vehicles are kept Legal and roadworthy
  • Ensure that all jobs that are done within the garage are recorded both in terms of hours and parts used.

Experience and Skills required

  • Excellent communication skills – verbally & written
  • The LGV Fitter must have good knowledge of health and safety
  • Able to work independently
  • Able to work under pressure
  • High levels of literacy and numeracy

Key Duties

  • To maintain a wide range of production equipment and machinery installations.
  • On-line fault finding
  • Introducing process improvements
  • Participating in capital expenditure projects to increase outputs and improve efficiencies
  • Development and introduction of a formalised preventative maintenance program
  • To gain a wide, in-depth knowledge of the current production facility, equipment and Participate in continuous improvement activities to maximise machine utilisation, decrease cycle times, and improve labour recoveries
  • Fault finding and repair of all plant, machinery, and equipment.
  • Carry out checks and inspection of plant, machinery, and equipment
  • Liaise with external contractors
 

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Will either be a time served fitter/engineer or have a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Mechanical Electrical Engineering including at least 17th Edition.
  • Have experience in fault finding, repair and general maintenance of machinery, hydraulics, electrics, and other production associated systems.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively in a team environment.
  • Strong health and safety knowledge.
  • Competent to attempt most aspects of mechanical and electrical engineering with little direction.
  • Experienced with the various types of PLCs and able to competently interrogate, fault find and program with little direction.
  • Experienced with control systems and finding potential faults.
  • Able to read schematic drawings and diagnose faults quickly & accurately.
  • Experienced with all aspects of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Competent using MIG, TIG and electric arc welding equipment.
  • Experienced in continuous improvements techniques preferred.

Summary:

Our client is UK specialist in composites and mouldings based in Gloucester are currently recruiting for a Technical Lead -Composites to join their team. The Technical Lead will manage the delivery of engineering projects within the Composite products business unit, this will include solution development, preparation of enquiry responses, de-risking activities, validation activities, product ionisation, development projects and improvement projects. The role will require project ownership from conception through to production.

The Technical Lead will become the business expert for a given product set and work as part of a wider team of specialists, offering task management and expertise in the field of mechanical design engineering. This role will contribute to exciting civilian and defence projects.

Required Duties:

      Lead the delivery of engineering projects including enquiry responses & development projects

Manage the development of new products and processes

Specification & execution of test programs for development and validation of new products

Supporting the business development team with on-site visits, customer calls and event

attendance

Acting as a point of contact for suppliers, customers, sister sites and internal departments

Become the technical expert in the business for a product range

Mechanical design engineering with composite & metallic materials

Completion of numerical and mechanical analysis, as required to demonstrate and validate

products

Occasional UK travel likely, infrequent overseas travel possible

Skills Required :

      Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role

Well organised and comfortable completing multiple projects concurrently

Experience in technical writing of reports

Experience of preparing technical summaries, proposals and presentations

Basic knowledge of stress analysis by FEA & Hand Calc

Demonstrable experience in mechanical design engineering

Familiarity with composite materials desirable

Familiarity with aerospace and/or defence industry desirable

Required Duties:

- Market Research - review the raw material supplier market to identify new materials that will enhance Permali's thermoplastic product portfolio.

  • Ensure the picking station and immediate surrounding area is kept clean, tidy and safe at all times.
  • Remove and separate other unwanted materials as per work instructions issued or from Supervisors immediate requirements.
  • Always maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the picking station and eliminate the danger from slips, trips and falls.
  • Make sure you have the correct PPE for any given tasks, that it is in an appropriate condition and it is being worn correctly.
  • Clean around the picking station conveyors at the end of every shift.
  • The picker must make sure the picking station bins are emptied at the end of each shift.
  • To assist Maintenance during plant downtimes making sure you are either supervised or fully conversant with the task requirements and safety needs.

Main Responsibilities of the Quality Controller

  • As the Quality Controller you will need to carry out all the continuous internal quality tests on the processed cullet as required following the companies test procedures.
  • Record and report all test results on paper and electronically as required.
  • Report any rejections or obvious trends of data that could be used to improve the quality of the finished product to the appropriate line manager as required.
  • Carry out LOI & LOD tests as required and record and report results.
  • Effectively interact with the Production team and Yardman to make sure that all test results are communicated and utilized to gain maximum benefit.
  • Liaise with the batch house personnel as required in order to assist in the daily joint tests carried out.
  • Cover other plant roles as required during break periods and other times as required by business needs.
  • The Quality Controller will report any contamination issues to the Supervisor as they become apparent.
  • Assist in training new or agency staff as required.

Experience and Skills required

  • The Quality Controller must have the ability to manage multiple workloads to agreed deadlines
  • Hold a current FLT license
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to record and report data accurately and neatly
  • Ability to demonstrate and uphold excellent H&S standards
  • IT Literate and competent to deal with various weighbridge issues that may arise.
