£60,000 - £65,000 per annum

Full time Permanent role

Hybrid working 3 days working from home

Commutable from Selby, Harrogate, Wetherby, Leeds, Malton, North Yorkshire, or West Yorkshire

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting for a experienced Commercial Finance Business Partner to join a company based in York, North Yorkshire.

The Role

The role of Commercial Business Partner will primarily partner the Chief Commercial Officer and team. They will drive business engagement and crucially, provide robust insight into revenue and cost of sale performance, advancing understanding, lessening risk, and equipping the business to improve performance and profitability. They will lead forecasting and budget cycles, providing valuable insight and modelling, with high quality presentation. They will also work closely with the commercial team on new business opportunities and where appropriate, M&A opportunities. Reporting to the FP&A Lead, they will be an enthusiastic self-starter, comfortable with change and challenge, willing to ‘get their hands dirty’, and a thoughtful team player.

Duties

  • Business Partner the Chief Commercial Officer and team to provide support and understanding of business performance to drive decision making, including provision of timely, accurate and relevant reporting on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Establish robust working relationships with key stakeholders. Become the key finance contact for your areas of responsibility, establishing yourself as a critical and trusted member of their management tea
  • Own and develop revenue and CoS recognition methodologies, advancing accuracy and reporting. Become deeply familiar with the complexities of revenue by key client, and CoS detail, such that you are the go-to ‘expert’ on these matters.
  • Prepare accurate and detailed budgets, forecasts, rolling forecasts and 3-year strategic plans in line with business deadlines, supporting the process with clear communication and high quality output
  • Support the development of KPI reporting, enhancing both existing reporting and identifying new relevant KPIs
  • Champion continuous improvement and standardisation of processes, including implementation of best practices and automation initiatives, collaborating with technology teams
  • Ad hoc analysis and project involvement as required
  • Actively support the management accounts team, sharing knowledge and insights to enable commercial understanding across the teams

The Person

  • An engaging and ambitious team player with a strong values set, an excellent work ethic and the ability to influence others
  • Experience working in a rapidly changing environment
  • Comfortable working autonomously, with a track record of delivering in challenging situations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop good relationships across the business
  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with 3+ years PQE and experience of budgeting, forecasting and KPI production
  • Confident IT user with advanced Excel skills able to manage large and complex data sets and an ability to pick up new IT systems quickly
  • Excellent analytical skills, with ability to identify trends in data and share these with both financial and non-financial users
