Hours Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 16:30pm and Friday 7:30am to 12:00pm  

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join their client who have offices UK wide – this role will be based at Long Eaton.

The Role

A proactive, driven Buyer to join a growing Supply Chain team on permanent basis. Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager and working closely with other departments, the Buyer will play a key role within the procurement team including:

Duties of the Buyer

• Supporting the Supply Chain function in delivering the most effective procurement strategy
• Managing relationships with suppliers and reporting supplier KPI’s
• Liaising with suppliers to manage and expedite orders
• Liaising heavily with various stakeholders - both internal and external to ensure the availability of materials for production
• Sourcing of MRO materials for production
• Mitigating material price increase as well as shortage risks;
• Assisting the Supplier Quality Engineer to register Quality Detects for Supplier Engagement
• Ability to Identify Cost Reduction opportunity and see it through to implementation
• Responsible for third party branded product’s NPI
• Support NPI Project sourcing , supplier onboarding , SLA & logistic agreement

Skills of the Buyer

• Have ERP/MRP knowledge and experience
• Familiar with NPI / Engineering Change Control Process
• Manufacturing or Engineering experience would be advantageous but not essential
• Be self-motivated, determined and be driven to develop within procurement
• Have strong attention to detail and be IT literate including Microsoft Excel
• Be able to work to deadlines
• CIPS would be essential, ideally already achieved Level 4 and working towards Level 5
• Have at least 3 year commodity purchasing experience preferably within appliance or automotive manufacturing
• Experience on Supplier Quality Reject, 8D Execution management
• In Depth knowledge of Vendor Managed Inventory will be advantage;
• In depth procurement knowledge on any of the following commodity will be advantage:

1. Wiring Harness
2. Cast Iron
3. Aluminum Die Cast
4. Injection Mold Chrome Plating Control Knob , Handle
5. Cardboard & Polystyrene Packaging, Timber Pallet
