Assignment: Permanent contract

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:00pm

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment business, are currently recruiting for a Technical Applications Engineer to join our clients successful Hydraulics and Pneumatics business based at Heathfield Industrial Estate in Newton Abbot.

Our client provides hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical services to customer across multiple sectors and are looking for a Technical Applications Engineer to be a part of the internal Engineering team.

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to develop their skills within a fast paced and diverse environment.

Duties as a Technical Applications Engineer:

  • Supporting Technical and Engineer team where you are required to provide Fluid Power products and technical solutions to customer across a wide range of applications and industries
  • Required to work collaboratively as part of a team and support timely delivery of items and solutions to our customers
  • Talk and specify with customers and colleagues regarding Hydraulic and Pneumatic components
  • Establish develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, customers and suppliers
  • Utilize internal computer ERP system to create quotations and generate orders
  • Ensure communication and follow up of quotes and enquiries to customers is regularly maintained and convert to orders
  • Ensuring contract with customers to advise products and solutions

  • Able to take personal responsibility to deliver results, demonstrating resilience and drive
  • Excellent customer service
  • Highly organized
  • Relationship development and working with others
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management
  • Knowledge and understanding of fluid power products and systems

The successful candidate will be working alongside the Service Supervisor and reporting to the Engineering Manager to supervise the workshop, organization of the team and workload timescales.

Duties as a Workshop Supervisor:

  • Assisting in the preparation of quotations for customer services and repairs, this may also lead to liaising with colleagues in both the External Sales and Technical teams to prepare or hand over enquiries for bigger projects
  • Taking phone calls in the Workshop as first point of contact
  • Working closely with Sales and Technical teams on site to provide support and ensure that both customer and company needs are met as efficiently as possible
  • Supervising the Engineering team, workload, and schedules to ensure smooth running of a busy workshop
  • Promoting the company at all times when communicating with customers
  • Telephone follow up of numerous quotes and enquiries on customer equipment to convert to order
  • Maintaining and updating CRM system with details off conversations and order progress

About you:

  • Ideally 5 years' experience within Engineering / Mechanical backgrounds
  • Hands on experience which you now wish to progress into a more supervisory position
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • Experience of Word and Excel at an intermediate level is essential
  • Must hold UK driving license for a minimum of 3 years
  • Able to supervise and organize the running of a busy workshop
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Must be prepared to talk to customer face to face on a busy trade counter

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative based in Newton Abbot on a permanent contract for our well-known window manufacturing client.

Our client specializes in fitting UPVC and aluminum windows and doors to new builds and building sites.

The successful candidate will be assisting the Warehouse Manager in the daily running of a busy Glass and PVC storage warehouse and assisting with some light fabrication work as required.

Duties as a Warehouse Operative:

  • Unloading and loading of stock items, some being as heavy as 25kg
  • Stack and storing new products to the agreed warehouse standard
  • Book in and locate stock accurately on warehouse management stock systems
  • Preparing stock for collection
  • Applying protection film to glass units
  • Assisting with the fabrication of cavity closers, including the cutting of PVC material profiles
  • Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

About you:

  • Excellent team worker
  • Time management skills and organization
  • Inventory control
  • Documentation skills
  • Experience within a warehouse environment
  • Fabrication skills is desired but not essential
  • Forklift B1 Counterbalance license would be beneficial but not essential
