Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking to recruit Field Service Technician for a permanent role with our client, a specialist manufacturer with several sites across the UK. The Field Service Technician is responsible for the safety, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of the Company packaging equipment in use at our customer's sites.

This role is primarily about supporting our Clients' customers on the M6 corridor ensuring that the Company high speed packaging machines are maintained in excellent condition and run at >98% efficiency. This is a role where you are encouraged to grow your knowledge and experience and become an active member of our Europe Field Service Team. Flexibility is required to cover the UK and European customers.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

  • Ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of Westrock machines
  • Installation, commissioning, and customer acceptance of new machines
  • Proactively monitoring machine performance and intervening to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Proactively managing scheduled maintenance of machines entrusted to you (actively looking for and resolving problems before they become issues for our customers)
  • Assessing machine mechanical wear and conducting the planned replacement worn components
  • Improve the knowledge and skills of customer operators and maintainers and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) where needed.
  • Actively involved with the team to improve our own work practices
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults and quickly escalating to colleagues when required
  • Ensuring that the correct tools, spare parts and consumables are available
  • Input to the continuous improvement of WestRock's machine design

 

 

Education / Experience / Skills

  • Ideally 3 to 5 years' experience of installing, maintaining, and repairing electro-mechanical machinery
  • Knowledge and practical experience of PLCs and Mechatronic systems
  • Independent, customer-oriented way of working
  • Performance-oriented thinking and acting
  • Willingness to challenge "we have always done it like this" thinking
  • Willingness to travel
  • Language: English (Another European language is a plus)

Key Responsibilities:

·Completion of all routine maintenance, in line with the agreed site plan;

·Repair and maintenance of the plant and its equipment, to ensure faults are identified quickly and production downtime is minimised;

·Accurate recording of all work undertaken for compliance and audit purposes;

·Ensuring all duties are undertaken in line with current health & safety legislation.

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

·An experienced multi-skilled engineer with an electrical bias;

·Proven track record within a fast-paced production environment;

·Conversant with PLC's;

·Proactive and can-do attitude;

·Flexible approach to working hours is essential (at this time we are working only dayshifts but as things begin to open further, we will be changing back to a continental shift pattern)

·Ideally from a Laundry or FMCG industry background (Not essential)

Reporting directly to our Corporate Partner, you will play a prominent and significant role in the corporate market including tenders and business development/networking . We're looking for someone who has some experience of audit work but is looking to broaden this to work with corporate clients below the audit threshold to offer a more advisory service. The successful candidate will take on an important and senior high-profile role within the office with responsibilities for business development and marketing - with a view to future progression for the right candidate.

Main Duties

The main duties (but not limited to) are the following: -

  • Networking with the business communities (in particular legal and banking) in which our offices and clients are based
  • Building and maintaining client relationships
  • Completion of Tenders
  • Responsible for effective planning, delivery and overall management of audit engagements for a portfolio of the firm's clients under the direction of the Corporate Partner
  • Monitoring performance of audit delivery against agreed KPIs and reporting on this, including the provision of potential solutions to issues

The facility operates a range of physico-chemical treatment processes, including acid/alkali neutralisation, oxidation, oil/water processing and chemical recycling and recovery.

The successful candidate will ideally have an HNC qualification or above in Chemistry and must have at least 3 years' relevant industry experience. CoTC (Treatment & Transfer - Hazardous) desirable.

The position involves input control and process authorisation and requires a hands-on person capable of mostly outdoor work (in an industrial environment) with some laboratory work.

9-hour shifts. Rotating shift pattern (currently 06.00 to 15.00 or 09.00 to 18.00), Monday to Friday, with a one hour or equivalent lunch break. May be required to work weekends on a reasonable rota basis and this will qualify for time off in lieu and/or additional remuneration.

Main Purpose of Role

To effectively plan customer requirements to achieve expected delivery dates, maximising Company efficiency with minimum inventory levels. Due to expansion, our client is looking to recruit a Planner to join their company.

Outcomes of Role

  • 100% OTIF - Customer orders are delivered on time and in full.
  • All customer requirements are clearly understood and entered into MRP system, reconciled with the BDG Sales forecast - Customer by Customer.
  • Clear visibility and achievement of the planned production is available on a daily/weekly basis which, where required, is communicated to the Customer (via BDG).
  • Despatch requirements are clearly communicated via a weekly Despatch plan on and adhered to.
  • Inventory levels are at the agreed (with Customer via BDG) minimum required to achieve customer deliveries effectively.
  • Management of production works orders to eliminate aged orders.

Job Scope

  • Enter all customer requirements into MRP system, taking into account material lead-time considerations.
  • Undertake regular reviews of order book loaded with BDG and / or customer.
  • Ensure short lead time orders are negotiated and agreed with purchasing prior to loading in MRP.
  • Run MRP process ensuring MRP output is as stable as reasonably possible.
  • Manage the implementation of ECNs at build level.
  • Create all manufacturing works orders, and subsequent management of those orders.
  • Maintain ERP parameters where appropriate.
  • Ensure material kit picking requirements are scheduled and adhered too.
  • Monitor and progress orders through production.
