The Role

As a Project Engineer on site, you will be required to provide, maintain and develop engineering services for both capital and special revenue projects. In this capacity, your role responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Develop project plans and submissions in line with the long-term needs and strategies of the works.
  • Manage and deliver fully all allocated projects and assist others where necessary. This includes all relevant project phases such as concept, proposal, feasibility study, design, build, test, installation, commissioning, training, documentation, handover and final acceptance.
  • Ensure that all work conforms to the relevant standards and guidance. This includes all of the lifecycle phases such as design, specification, installation, maintenance and decommissioning.
  • Support the works SRE and Capital plans as decided by the Senior Engineering team.
  • Provide expert engineering support and assistance for project, improvement work and problem solving.

The Candidate

  • For this role it is required that the candidate has knowledge of project management techniques, risk assessment and safety study techniques.
  • As the Project Engineer, you will ideally be educated to degree level in engineering and have experience within the steel industry at an appropriate level.

You will also require the following skills:

  • Good statistical, analytical and computing skills
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.

Please note, within this role, there may be travel involved. The travel is typically in the UK and Europe for factory acceptance tests and supplier visits and possibly 3 to 4 visits per year, ranging from 2 to 5 days. As a result, applicants must have a valid UK driver's license and passport.

Role and responsibilities

  • As a master tooling engineer, you would be capable of working with the NPI and design teams to ensure the optimum design of all 'new' progressive stamp tooling, taking into account the feasibility of the parameters set.
  • As a master tooling engineer, you will be able to diagnose and solve all issues relating to the piercing and forming of highspeed multistage progressive stamping tools in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that vital tooling spares are maintained

  • Analyse, identify and correct/repair tooling issues that prevent or hinder normal planned production timelines and rates.
  • The correction/repair method should take into consideration the 'live' allocated production slot status, and where a 'temporary' solution is found, ensure that a permanent fix is planned and documented for the tool or process, ready for the next production requirements.
  • Provide input / detail on relevant Quality concerns (8D's or internal quality issues)
  • Coach and train apprentices and tool makers (including new starters) when required.
  • Keep a flexible approach to time management, especially at end of shift.

The Candidate

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have a demonstrable experience working in a Maintenance Management role within a manufacturing operation. Key skills required and experience will include:

  • The position requires an effective Manager with substantial experience in steel products or heavy industrial manufacturing activities.
  • The Manager should preferably be qualified to Degree or HNC level in a Mechanical Engineering
  • Conversant and experienced to a high level in SAP PM.
  • Have experience and understanding of maintenance excellence and execution.

The Role

Do you have analytical and problem-solving skills and are interested in working on large process plant?

Work ranges from major capital investment, high value medium term enhancements through to problem solving and trouble shooting in a dynamic works environment. The role will be within a small team based on the plant and will involve regular interaction with production and engineering personnel to deliver results.

You'll work with plant data to understand the key relationships, based upon the physical understanding of the process, then to come up with proposals to change the process in order to improve it. Your work will include developing mathematical models, plant/process monitors, design changes, operational changes, statistical analysis, control system modifications and infrastructural developments, and necessarily impacts on the disciplines of mechanical, electrical and systems engineering.

The Candidate

The Process Technology Specialists will be degree qualified in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths discipline. Previous experience in a manufacturing / process industry is an advantage (although not a pre-requisite) and may be taken in lieu of a formal qualification.

If you have a degree or higher qualification in a STEM subject then we can support your development into this role. Experience of computer coding is an advantage, as is experience of analytics in an operations context, but neither is a pre-requisite in the case of an otherwise capable and enthusiastic applicant with a willingness to develop their technical skills.

You'll be an excellent problem solver and have the ability to work with data to identify cause and effect. The Process Technology Specialist will be a driven individual, able to prioritise their own workload and adapt to changing priorities. The Role

Within the role, you will support the department with the coordination of the area's hydraulic engineering activities and implementation of appropriate engineering standards to drive continuously improving manufacturing performance and delivery of our Annual Plan. The incumbent of the role will continuously develop and implement a cost-effective preventative maintenance regime within the hydraulic and gas service section, in line with the maintenance strategy for the Works Area.

You will support and drive the failure analysis process, ensuring that all engineering activities are carried out in line with the maintenance & legislative standards and strategy for the Works Area (e.g. management of spares, management of contractors, budget management, engineering standards & procedures. etc.).

The Candidate

Applicants will have previous mechanical engineering experience in Hydraulics & Pneumatic installations within an industrial system environment. You should be qualified to a minimum HNC or Mechanical Degree ideally obtained through a recognized craft apprenticeship or modern apprenticeship scheme. Applicants will have an appreciation of the techniques, problems and standards associated with engineering disciplines.

Some of the key attributes we are looking for in applicants include:

  • A knowledge of statistical and problem solving techniques, with computer literacy and good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • In depth knowledge of Permit and Authorisation to Work Systems
  • Ideally IOSH qualified
  • Understanding of HR processes/procedures.
  • Legislative Ownership (PSSR, PUWER, LOLER)
  • Understanding of contractor governance.
  • Ability to project manage small improvement SRE/CAPEX projects.
  • Continuous improvement techniques.
  • Ability to develop RA/SWP's and manage safe systems of work.
  • Experience of Continuous Casting advantageous.
  • Proven skills & knowledge in relevant discipline

The Role

We are looking to recruit a Electrical Craft Team Member for our client based in Port Talbot. Within this role, you will perform preventative maintenance and inspection work and provide expertise and resource to identify and rectify faults in complex systems to ensure manufacturing continuity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all activity is undertaken within Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and in compliance with company and legislative requirements. The jobholder will work as part of a team to ensure manufacturing performance on an ongoing basis, support manufacturing development plans and identify opportunities for improvement.

 

The Candidate

Ideally, applicants will be qualified to ONC level, which will have normally been obtained through a craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering or hold a Modern Apprenticeship certificate. Experience of High voltage equipment will be advantageous.

You will be required to have relevant plant experience in electrical systems and be capable of supervising personnel in the safe execution of engineering repair work.

We require applicants to have the ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be computer literate. The ability to work without close supervision, yet under pressure and to tight timescales is essential.
