Job Purpose
Reporting into the Site Lead this role will require an experienced Multiskilled Engineer to operate within a fast paced food production environment. The role is hands on, ensuring that all onsite manufacturing machinery and equipment runs safely, smoothly and reliably plus provide a proactive and reactive maintenance service, working both on mechanical and electrical systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain all site mechanical/electrical equipment in relation to machinery, buildings, support services and utilities to required standards.
• Perform maintenance and support tasks on high speed automated equipment.
• Maintenance on automated and conveying systems
• Proactive machine maintenance in accordance with the PPM schedule to plant, machinery and equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.
• Work with Production Management to proactively identify areas of continuous improvement.
• Supporting the transitional period of moving from the existing factory to a new purpose built production facility.
• Occasional installation requirement supporting external contractors.
• Liaising with all internal departments to ensure any potential issues/factors affecting the business are communicated in a timely manner and escalated appropriately.
• Asset care and supporting in the training and development of Apprentices/Machine Setters 
• Keeping accurate and up to date records
• Sourcing of parts ensuring optimum value for the business
• Willing to engage with a changing work environment which will involve shift work

Required experience:

• Experience in a similar role that covers both electrical and mechanical engineering responsibilities
• Preferably completed a time-served maintenance engineering apprenticeship
• HNC Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Electrical qualifications (NVQ level 3/18th edition essential
• Team working and flexibility with an open attitude
• Capable of effective prioritisation of tasks and personal time management
• Able to work unsupervised and prioritise their own time and activities
• Have strong analytical skills supporting fast and effective problem solving
• Able to demonstrate a proven ability in trouble shooting and recovering equipment in a dynamic environment
• Experience in installation and commissioning of new equipment

The Candidate:

Electrically you will be able to fault find on single and three-phase systems, servo motors and AC motors, sensors, and various control systems. There will be an element of electrical installation as required, typically lighting and small power. Knowledge of plc electronics desired.

Mechanically you will be able to work on drive train systems, rollers, gearboxes, shafts, pneumatics, and some hydraulics. There is a requirement to be able to strip machine assemblies to component level and rebuild. You will also need to have demonstrated experience in maintenance engineering and show the ability to work off your own initiative.

Education to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is preferred, but not essential as we would consider “time served” as experience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and effective planning / scheduling of make-to-order products based on demand, and agreed stock levels plus the procurement of raw materials specific to these lines

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain planning data and parameters for the for Make-To-Order Products
• Maintain a balanced production plan from top level product to lowest level planned WIP.
• Regular review and update of the plan in accordance with customer orders, 3rd party warehouse stock and possible projected demand.
• Manage production planning to maximise output to available capacity.
• Ensure raw materials specific to the Make-To-Order products are ordered to meet needs of the production plan.
• Advise supply chain, operations and sales when demand is unable to be met due to capacity or material constraints and identify the product(s) affected.
• Regular reporting of production schedules to key customers highlighting changes to the previous schedule.
• Provide data and/or highlight concerns on a range of planning/production parameters such as conformance to plan, yield or efficiency analysis via close working with the production team leaders.
• Have the production plan set by the agreed day & time each working week ready for the Core Planner to publish the full factory production plan.
• Attend regular production review meetings to review the weekly plan.
• Participation as and when required in continuous improvement projects across the site.
• Consistently review sequencing of plans to reduce change overs, meet out loading requirements whilst balancing labour, production and warehousing resources.
• Close working with the Core Product Planner on shared core book and wafer resources with priorities set by the company.
• Absence cover for the Core Product Planner.
• Clear understanding of the financial costs of products and materials used within the company.
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations and company personal hygiene polices.

PROJECT COORDINATOR

Outskirts of Cardiff

Permanent Full Time - Mon - Thurs 8am - 4:30pm - Fri - 7:30am - 2pm

Hawk 3 Recruitment are working with a specialist manufacturer based on the outskirts of Cardiff to recruit a Project Coordinator to join their company on a permanent basis. Job Purpose:

The coordination of pre-contract supplier qualification responses for project-based sales.

Manage project tender enquiries.

Manage Project related information in a discreet manner.

To be the point of contact for project-based 'on-site' clients.

Manage customer accounts to make sure credit limit is sufficient for Project size.

Manage 'quotations' and 'drawings for approval' through internal support departments, whilst managing client expectations.

Manage the recording of 'Status A' DFA sign-off.

Manage Project cost variations.

Track and record all relevant variations to project orders, ensuring all variations are updated within the customer's purchase order.

Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure project delivery, post-order.

Manage phasing and Project Tracker.

To manage raising project orders with agreed delivery dates suitable for both parties.

Reporting To:

Reporting directly to Sales Office Manager.

Responsibilities:

To comply with the company's policies and procedures, particularly in respect of Quality, Health & Safety, Housekeeping, Environment, and Human Resources.

Plan, manage, and deliver projects in line with the company's strategy and values.

To develop relationships with key contacts within project-based client businesses'.

Encourage early project planning, phasing, and forecasting.

Ensure Project-related information is kept in order and is up to date.

Communicate with all relevant internal departments to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of project-based sales, including feedback for improvements.

Adhere to company safety standards and promote a safe working culture.

Key Skills:

Knowledge of the Construction market. Experience within the Doors industry is desirable though not essential.

Strong influencing and communication skills at all levels within an organisation.

Ability to manage a high volume of work, short deadlines, and problem-solve.

Solid understanding of providing solutions and following best practices.

Qualifications:

Accurate recording of variations within project orders.

Accurate tracking of purchase orders post-sale.

The number of accepted credits against project sales.

The number of complaints raised against department PCM.

The number of Internal Non-Conformances raised against department PCM.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the confirmation of all day-to-day production on the companies ‘Adelia’ computer system as well as investigating any adjustments that are needed to be done

Role Objectives

The primary role is to take responsibility for the confirmation of all day-to-day production on the companies ‘Adelia’ computer system as well as investigating any adjustments that are needed to be done

Job Overview

• To collect and understand the daily production information from all production departments then record these in a methodical timely manner onto the company computer system
• Investigate, correct and report back anomalies preventing production recording
• Accurate and concise reporting of documentation associated with the role
• Clear understanding of gammes (BOMs) and communicate back when new versions begin to be made on the shopfloor to ensure the system is correct
• Conduct daily and weekly stock checks to tidy up work in progress locations
• Clear understanding of the financial costs of products and materials used within the company
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations and company personal hygiene polices
• Demonstrate a ‘Can Do’ attitude showing willing and flexibility towards the role
• Provide excellent service and support to our internal and external customers
• Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of the department to cover monthly/yearly stock takes, holiday and sickness

 Essential Experience required:

• Previous Data Entry Experience

• Supply Chain / Production experience
• Understanding of bill of materials
• Knowledge of JIT backflushing

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the commercial department and the sales managers in day to day activities, including but not limited to; sales reports, sample organisation, forecasting, sales contracts and other general commercial administration.

Job Overview

Responsible for supporting the commercial department and the sales managers in day to day activities, including but not limited to; sales reports, sample organisation, forecasting, sales contracts and other general commercial administration.

Reporting Line: Commercial Manager(s)

Key Responsibilities:

• The day to day support and administration of the sales managers (Key Account Managers)
• Interacting with other colleague’s and departments to ensure the smooth sales office function, i.e. logistics/sales ledger/technical/manufacturing site
• The preparation of sales reports and the preparation and uploading of sales forecasts
• The preparation of presentations and information in support of the commercial team
• The organisation of customer visits / meetings and quarterly reviews
• The management of sales contracts including uploading pricing information
• The fielding of initial customer inquiries
• Support in preparing pricing files and pricing information / following up on various modular commercial information

Experience:

• Experience in sales support / back office functions is preferable
• Understanding of sales forecast and general administration
• IT savvy individual able to navigate customer portals and systems
• Experience working hand in hand with commercial managers and sales managers would be preferable (although not food specific)
• General administrative experience may also be suitable / applicable and will be considered
