  • Day to day management of drivers, planning of routes and organising ad-hoc amendments as required

Skills, experience, and competencies

  • Be able to prioritise own workload but also be able to work as part of a team.
  • Be fully conversant in IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and systems.
  • Have excellent communication skills over the telephone and e-mail.
  • Have experience with Excel reporting.
  • Have good team working skills.
  • Have good understanding of logistics processes and procedures.

As a HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a large fleet of vehicles in a safe, efficient and economical manner.

Role responsibilities

  •  Carry out maintenance on sites HGVs ensuring work is carried out in accordance with the required schedule and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ensure all breakdowns & reactive work is carried out to a high standard in a timely manner.
  • Accurately diagnose electrical & mechanical faults with HGV's and across the wider site.
  • Be proactive in your approach always looking for ways to improve things.
  • To accurately communicate technical information & outstanding work to the other shifts.
  • Escalate issue to the relevant managers.

Personal requirements,

  • Relevant HGV Mechanics qualification
  • Driven, with a keen focus on safety.
  • Carry out all aspects of vehicle maintenance & pass all legal and company specified tests.
