Main Responsibilities of the Materials and Stock Controller  

  • Ensuring production materials come in a timely manner to match production demands
  • Monitoring stock levels across business keeping them to target
  • Raising request for quotations  to establish most cost effective prices from suppliers and optimum lead times
  • Raise purchase orders for additional or replacement parts
  • First point of contact for parts issues

Experience and Skills required

  • Previous experience within a Stock Control/Planning role is essential

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure all air import/export jobs are completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Ensure all customs declaration tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Report immediately to the line manager any amendments to customs declarations
  • Ensure the operational system is always used and correctly

  • Knowledge/skills required for Air Freight sales and products
  • Demonstrate quality communication skills along with good presentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages especially Ms Excel and general PC knowledge
  • Good understanding of logistics processes and procedures
  • Must be able to prioritise and organise own workload with attention to detail

Experience, attributes & skills sought:

- Previous vehicle routing experience is essential

· Proven track record of motivating drivers to deliver a quality service

· Experience of making quick decisions under pressure in a fast paced environment

· A good understanding of the EU drivers hours and working time directive

· Ability to work alone and as part of a team

· Ability to prioritise work and complete it to a high standard

· Transport Manager CPC is desirable but not essential

· IOSH Managing Safely is desirable but not essential

· Good IT skills are required (e.g. MS Office, vehicle tracking, routing software)

· Valid LGV Class C or C E licence would be considered beneficial
