The Role:

The successful Project Buyer will be accountable for the efficient planning, execution, and quality of all buying and procurement activities for key projects.

· Acts as the interface between the various operations or project personnel

· Ensure the quality of delivery and service

· Negotiate, prepare and approve external agreements

· Manage any supplier complaints

· Manage financial reporting for each business transaction

· Track all stages relating to purchasing up to final acceptance

· The role will involve sourcing, building, and maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring materials are purchased on time and to a high quality.

· Maintain the purchase records and important data on the systems (ERP/MRP)

· Process requisitions and material orders to quality, time, price, and quality

· Expedite orders

· Send out inquiries for quotations

· Preparation of spreadsheets for expediting and costing.

· Preparation of progress reports

· Sealing of sub-contracts.

Experience Required:

 A level, or equivalent (foundation degree or HND)

· CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations

· CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply

· CIPS Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Procurement and Supply

· Project management qualification or relevant experience

· Analysing drawings, bills of materials, and other project documentation to estimate costs.

· Identification and assessment of new vendors

· Working proactively to resolve any supply issues

· Knowledge and understanding of construction materials

· Strong budgeting abilities

The Role

As part of the Operations function, the Warehouse and Distribution Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery, storage/receipt of the final product in a safe and cost-effective manner. The Role

The role is responsible for managing the material flow for the business. Ensuring efficient use of raw materials and the delivery of finished goods into customers.

  • Maintain a formal SLA with external suppliers and monitor performance against this to ensure the best value and service.
  • Develop expertise in all transport modes (e.g. rail, export shipping, sea) and identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency
  • Develop a skills matrix for the function and identify training requirements for each individual to ensure flexibility, succession and development within the team
  • Ensure customer delivery plans are developed, documented and reviewed in line with policy
  • Ensure that all logistics are conducted in manner that fully complies with health and safety, quality, environmental and corporate policies.
