Machine Shop Team Leader – Late Shift

Leeds (LS10)

£21.00 per hour

Full Time | Permanent | 39 hours per week

Working Hours

Late Shift:

• Monday – Wednesday: 3:30pm – 2:00am
• Thursday: 3:30pm – 1:00am

Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturer, is currently seeking an experienced Machine Shop Team Leader to join their production team based in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with leadership experience who is looking to take the next step in their career within a busy and well-organised manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the machine shop team during the late shift
• Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety procedures are met
• Operate and provide cover across key machinery including:
• Beam Saw
• Edgebander
• CNC Machines
• Allocate tasks and coordinate workflow across the team
• Monitor production progress and resolve operational issues where required
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workplace safety
• Coordinate production flow between machine shop, spray shop, and dispatch
• Support the training and development of team members

Requirements

• Previous experience working within a machine shop or woodworking manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with Beam Saws, Edgebanders, and CNC machines
• Experience with machinery such as Weeke, Biesse, Homag, or Morbidelli would be beneficial
• Previous team leader or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A proactive and hands-on approach to leadership
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
