Job Title: QA Manager / QA Supervisor (Food Manufacturing)
Location: Pontyclun, South Wales
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented QA Manager / QA Supervisor to lead and manage all quality assurance and food safety activities at our production facility in Pontyclun. This role is critical in ensuring that all products meet regulatory, customer, and internal quality standards, while maintaining the highest levels of food safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the site's Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure full compliance with food safety standards, including HACCP, BRCGS (or equivalent), and relevant UK regulations
- Lead and manage all quality assurance and quality control activities on site
- Oversee hygiene standards, GMP, and factory audits (internal and external)
- Manage and maintain documentation, including SOPs, risk assessments, and traceability records
- Lead investigations into non-conformances, customer complaints, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Conduct internal audits and prepare for third-party and customer audits
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality and food safety standards
- Work closely with production and operations teams to drive continuous improvement
- Monitor supplier quality and approve raw materials where required
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a QA role within food manufacturing (supervisory or managerial level)
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP essential; BRCGS or equivalent preferred)
- Experience with audits and certification processes
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Good understanding of UK food safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Effective communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
- Degree or formal qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field
- Level 3 or Level 4 HACCP certification
- Experience working in a fast-paced production environment
