General Maintenance Operative

Location: Newport

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 4:30pm

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are looking for a hands-on, reliable General Maintenance Operative to join our clients growing facilities team supporting a range of commercial sites across the UK.

This is a varied and practical role where no two days are the same, covering everything from planned upkeep to reactive repairs across self-storage facilities, office spaces, and retail locations.

The role:

• General building maintenance and repairs (including roofing and cladding)
• Plumbing repairs and basic installations
• Joinery and carpentry work
• Painting and decorating tasks
• Tiling and flooring repairs, including carpets
• External works such as paving and drainage maintenance
• Grounds upkeep and general site clearance
• Pressure washing external areas
• Furniture assembly, relocation and removal
• Supporting both planned preventative maintenance and reactive works

About you:

• At least 3 years' experience in building maintenance or similar multi-skilled trade role
• NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent qualification)
• Experience with roofing and cladding (desirable)
• CSCS card (advantageous but not essential)
• Full UK driving license
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload
• Strong organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines
• Competent using IT systems to log work completed and associated costs
• Good understanding of health and safety practices, including risk assessment awareness
