Sales Support Executive

Location: Bridgend

£25,000 Basic + Monthly Commission + Profit-Related Bonus

Monday - Thursday 9.00am-5.00pm, Friday 9.00am - 4.00pm

Are you a confident communicator who enjoys speaking with customers, building relationships and spotting opportunities?

We are recruiting for a Sales Support Executive to join a successful, established business where you'll become part of a small, friendly and supportive team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with some previous B2B sales experience who enjoys the relationship-building side of sales but is equally comfortable picking up the phone, approaching new customers and identifying opportunities to generate additional business.

Working closely with the Sales Director, you'll have plenty of opportunity to use your own initiative, contribute ideas and make a genuine impact on the continued growth of the business.

What You'll Be Doing

Your role will be varied, combining sales support, account development, new business activity and customer service.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Sales Director with day-to-day sales activity and account development.
  • Building strong relationships with existing customers and identifying opportunities to grow accounts.
  • Contacting prospective B2B customers by telephone and introducing the company's products and services.
  • Making outbound and cold calls confidently and professionally.
  • Following up enquiries, identifying customer requirements and helping convert opportunities into sales.
  • Taking ownership of designated customer accounts and ensuring opportunities are followed through.
  • Providing a high standard of customer care and responding professionally to queries.
  • Keeping customer information and records accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting social media activity with engaging company and customer updates.
  • Completing general sales administration and data input.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues while confidently managing your own workload.
  • Contributing ideas that could improve customer service, sales activity and the wider business.

About You

We're not necessarily looking for someone with years of sales experience. What's more important is that you're confident, personable and commercially minded, with the motivation to develop relationships and generate opportunities.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a B2B sales or customer-focused environment.
  • Some previous sales experience and confidence speaking with customers over the telephone.
  • The confidence to make outbound calls and approach prospective customers.
  • A natural ability to build rapport and develop lasting customer relationships.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to use your own initiative.
  • Good organisation and administration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail when maintaining customer information and records.
  • A positive, professional and outgoing personality.
  • The confidence to contribute your own ideas and suggestions.
  • A genuine desire to be part of a small team and contribute to the success of the business.

Previous experience using Sage would be beneficial, although full training can be provided and a willingness to learn is much more important.

Salary & Benefits

You'll receive:

  • c£26,000 basic salary.
  • Monthly commission structure.
  • Profit-related bonus.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Private medical insurance after 12 months' service.
  • 21 days' holiday plus bank holidays , increasing by one day for each completed year of service up to 25 days.
  • 3-month probationary period.
  • Supportive and friendly working environment.
  • The opportunity to work closely with senior management and have your contribution recognised.

Working Hours

34 hours per week

Monday to Thursday: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Friday: 9:00am - 4:00pm

1-hour lunch break each day.

If you're looking for a sales role where you can build relationships, develop your commercial skills and be part of a close-knit business where your contribution really matters, we'd love to hear from you.
