Contract Manager - Facilities Soft Services

 

  • Location: 2 sites (Deeside and Rhymney) - Ideal candidates will reside in North Wales, Cheshire, or Merseyside
  • Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 per annum (including basic salary and car allowance)
  • Contract: Full-time, Permanent
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Site Contract Manager to oversee all operational cleaning and waste management activities across two sites in Deeside and Rhymney.

In this pivotal role, you will take full ownership of labour management, plant and equipment maintenance, and financial administration. Leading by example, you will coach, mentor, and manage an established management team alongside a dedicated group of cleaning and waste operatives. You will also drive the recruitment and training strategy to build and develop future talent for our growing operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Operational Delivery & Leadership

  • Team Management: Lead personnel processes including training, absence management, and disciplinary procedures through your onsite cleaning supervisors.
  • Health & Safety: Enforce safe working practices by strictly implementing company and statutory H&S regulations, ensuring risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are active and followed.
  • Service Excellence: Oversee operational cleaning and waste activities to ensure services consistently meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Resource Planning: Efficiently schedule on-site activities and manage capacity planning for both individuals and teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive quantitative and qualitative initiatives to optimize costs, quality, and service standards while actively working to reduce year-on-year consumable and overtime costs.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor profitability by measuring actual operational costs against strict budgets, utilizing visual management tools.
  • KPI Reporting: Manage and deliver accurate KPI reports according to agreed schedules.

Client Collaboration & Relationship Management

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build, maintain, and elevate professional relationships with the client, attending regular service reviews to measure and improve client satisfaction.
  • Performance Management: Operate robust audit processes to ensure service delivery matches both company standards and customer quality expectations.
  • Communication: Facilitate clear verbal and written communication across all levels of the workforce.
  • HR Coordination: Maintain a strong working knowledge of internal HR processes, collaborating with the HR team to manage staff competence, training records, and development.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Education: HNC or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: Proven management or supervisory background with a history of managing customer-focused cleaning contracts.
  • Industry Knowledge: Sound understanding of the FM Soft Services.
  • H&S Compliance: Strong working knowledge of H & S regulations and legislation.
  • Tech Savvy: Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Financial Acumen: Experience managing cost controls and resource planning.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, proven delegation skills, and the capacity to prioritise workload under tight deadlines. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must.

Desirable:

  • Formal management degree or diploma.
  • Knowledge of WR1 and Duty of Care legislation.
  • Full understanding of PCA and Navision software.
