Newton Abbot, Devon – Hybrid offered after probation
Permanent | 37.5 hours per week (flexible, minimum 24 hours considered)

About the Opportunity
Hawk 3 Talent Solutions are acting as an employment agency on behalf of our client, a well-established accountancy practice based in Newton Abbot, who are looking to appoint a Practice Finance Manager.

The Role
As Practice Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the firm’s financial operations while supporting leadership with valuable insights.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead budgeting and financial forecasting processes
  • Oversee monthly accounts consolidation and year-end procedures
  • Analyse financial performance and provide insights to senior stakeholders
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Manage payroll, VAT compliance, and statutory reporting
  • Support annual audits and maintain robust financial controls
  • Act as the main point of contact for all finance-related matters

About You
You will be an experienced finance professional who is organised, proactive, and confident working both independently and as part of a team. There is an element of coaching but this role doesn’t have direct line management responsibilities.
Essential:

  • CIMA qualified (or equivalent) and/or a minimum of 5 years’ finance experience
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with accounts production software (e.g. CCH)
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills

Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally
