Maintenance Technician / Semi Skilled Plant Operator

3‑Shift Pattern (Full Time)

Working Monday to Friday – Rotating Shifts – Days, Afternoons, Nights

6am – 2pm days, 2pm – 10pm afternoons– 10pm – 6am Nights

Salary is £28,000 - £30,500 per annum plus Shift Allowance of £5396

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician / Semi‑Skilled Plant Operator to join a busy compound plant operation. Working as part of a small, supportive team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient running, maintenance, and continuous production of the plant.

You will be reporting to the Production Manager

This position requires flexibility, reliability, and a willingness to work overtime when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and fault‑find on plant machinery using a variety of maintenance disciplines.
• Support machine efficiency and development programmes through established maintenance methodologies.
• Carry out preventative maintenance inspections and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
• Manage and operate a PVC compounding facility effectively and safely.

About You

Qualifications & Experience

• Ideally 5+ years’ experience as a maintenance technician or semi‑skilled operator in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• A recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline; HNC qualification desirable.
• Experience in both electrical and mechanical maintenance disciplines.
• Comfortable working independently, using initiative, and adapting to a variety of shift patterns.
• Computer literate with strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
• Understanding of PLC programming is essential.
