Job description

I’m reaching out to introduce a senior-level candidate with over 27 years of experience in food manufacturing, currently seeking a new opportunity to contribute strategic leadership across operations, health and safety, and continuous improvement.

This individual brings a rare combination of hands-on operational experience and a proactive approach to health and safety, having successfully led teams in high-volume, unionised environments. Over the course of their career, they have progressed from shop floor roles to senior management, demonstrating adaptability, commercial awareness, and a deep understanding of regulatory and retailer standards (including BRC AA).

Key achievements include:

  • Leading site-wide safety initiatives, resulting in significant reductions in RIDDORs, accident frequency, and minor injury incidents.
  • Driving productivity and efficiency improvements through implementation of SIC routines, KPI tracking, and structured problem-solving processes.
  • Developing and mentoring cross-functional teams, enhancing colleague engagement and operational discipline.
  • Managing production in fast-paced environments, overseeing multiple lines and large teams to meet ambitious throughput and quality targets.

With qualifications including IOSH Managing Safely, ongoing NEBOSH Diploma study, and food safety training, this candidate is well-positioned to add immediate value in either a Health & Safety leadership role or a Senior Operations/Shift Management capacity.

They are available to discuss opportunities and bring a proven ability to lead both people and process improvement from the ground up.

They are available on 1 month notice and looking for a salary of £50,000 per annum, looking to work in Selby, Wakefield, Doncaster, Normanton, Castleford, Pontefract
